Growler 200cl. @ The Danish Summer Gathering, TFODRBSG11.

[ Shared by Nightfall ]. Clear dark black brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, oak - barrle notes. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, burnt dark malt, dark malt, chocolate, cacao ! Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110820]

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, soy sauce, and wood, leading to a dry finish.

75 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malty, wooden, vanilla and liqourice. Bitter, dark malty and liqourice. Smooth dark chocolate and dense malty. Light bitterness, vanilla and mild liqourice. Smooth dark roasted malty finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Steasy66. Vintage 2012. Pours a pitch black with a small light brown head. Lovely oaky nose, more oaky than sweet bourbonish. Medium body, dark roast, loads of dark dried fruit and a subtle oaky edge. Has a slightly tart edge to it but doesn’t appear infected - more like a roasty tartness. 140712

Bottle at Papsø. Pitch black coloured with a medium sized brown head. Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Roasted flavour of caramel, licorice and dark chocolate with notes of hops, bourbon and berries. Roasted finish.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Pours cloudy black with a small creamy white head. Chocoalate, vague roast and liquorice. Smooth. Medium bodied. Oak and vanilla.

Pitch black color, oily. Wonderful aroma, rich chocolate, roasted nuts, tobacco, leather, a hint of smoke and vanilla, phenol; powerful and persistent. Thick body, the mouthfeel is quite oily; strong flavor of chocolate and roasted malt, with an evident presence of liquorice; strong vanilla too, from the oak; some molasses; it’s not very sweet, the body is thinner in the end, when the alcohol is stronger, warming; roasted nuts final; if just one thing, the liquorice is too strong.
Chaotic but excellent.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are oak, roast malt, chocolate, caramel, coffee and hops.

(Growler) Pours an opaque black body with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, molasses, and bourbon. Flavor of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and roasted malt with a dry oak finish.
