COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our favorite styles is the German Hefeweizen (a wheat beer with yeast). We decided to add a bit of American extremity to this classic style to create our Double Hefeweizen, Brewed using over 50% malted wheat this light colored and light bodied beer has a tremendous banana / clove aroma and flavor. Despite it’s strong alcohol content you will find this beer remarkably refreshing.

In short: A nourishing spicy banana cake in a growler. Very nice
How: Fresh growler, improvised HF 1rst anniversary camping tasting. Growler sent to me by oakbluff, thanks a lot Scott
The look: Cloudy amber body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is dense banana cake with some cloves. Taste is more or less the same. Plenty of wheat, plenty of semi-ripe bananas, medium spiciness (cloves mainly), medium sweetness sensation, low hops presence. Creamy nourishing mouthfeel. This is a straightforward beer but it is just expertly put together in an above-average way. A lot of drinking too place on that improvised camping tasting. I got really drunk, didn’t feel so good and I said I would not get that drunk again. I say really dumb things when I’m drunk.

Large pour from a growler brought to HF anniversary after-party by Glouglouburp, merci Dany. Hazy pale yellow pour with some head. Big banana bread aroma, cloves and wheat. Taste is sweet, banana bread with a good spicy finish. Palate is full and slightly creamy. Very rich and tasty. I prefer my wheat beers lighter but this one was good.

Dark gold pour. Huge banana and clove, along with some more complex spices and bready notes, in both the aroma and flavor. Really solid stuff.

Tap. Hazy light orange pour with a white head that fades off. Kind of a funky nose - ripe banana, wheat, orange, and a hint of spice. Semi creamy on the palate initially, followed by a small CO2 zing. Taste is clove dominant with ripe banana and wheat.

Growler pour thanks DalzAle. Pour is cloudy yellow gold with a soapy head that fades to a film. Aroma is sweet and bready with yeast. Taste is sweet and tons of yeast and wheat with a subtle bitterness. Palate is medium with a fizzy chaulky finish.

Draft. Poured into a pint glass a cloudy orange amber color with a 1 finger foamy, white head. Fruity aroma of orange, banana, spice, and clove. Medium mouthfeel. Nice flavors that is domintaed mostly by the banana ester notes and orange. For 7.3% the abv doesn’t shoaw as much or really at all as you would expect. Malty sweet start. Spice in the back end.
