COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
These are the three initals of the newest member of one of our brewers family, young Elliot Ryder may drink some of this beer in about 21 years. So daddy brewer made his version of a Black IPA with a strong Cascadian influence. Loaded with hops and enough dark malt for an intesting mix of chocolate and roast.

Poured dark reddish brown with nice foamy white head on cask at Town Hall. Aroma has big notes of pine, resinous hops, slight bitter orange and sweet citrusy notes, roasted, smoky, dark fruits as well in there. Taste was a pleasant surprise, seeing a smoky, roasty and dark fruit laden black IPA instead of the choco-pine that everyone else does was refreshing. Good stuff, worked well!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, tannish brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is solid with some tropical fruits and piney citruses. Lots of caramel with a light roast in the background that increases slightly as it warms. Flavor is similar. Lots of juicy pines and citrus tropical fruits with a solid balancing caramel. Really pleasant, light roast comes in at the end with more pines giving this a moderate bitterness that dries and leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a moderate carbonation. Very well balanced and easy drinking. Overall, a high quality black IPA. Lots of fresh, juicy, fruity pines with a nice roast and balancing caramel. Pretty impressed with this one.

Tap. Dark brown/black pour, plenty of carbonation and a good muted hops aroma. Flavor is malty/biscuity, plenty of dry hops, dark malt and finished dry and ashy. Very good!
