A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, light spiced malts, like an herbaceous Denis Nectar. In mouth, a sweetish malt with ginger, apples, a bit boring. Tasted Dec. 18 2010. Thanks Dany.

GABF ’07. Pours clear yellow with an average, frothy, off-white head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, hay, straw), average hops (herbs), average yeast (barnyard) with notes of banana and butter. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

GABF 2013. Pours a touch hazy golden yellow appearance with a white head. Big sweet honey, orange blossom, floral aroma. Flavor is pretty well balanced with some honey and citrusy notes that isn’t too sweet. Nice floral notes. Not too bad.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges and laced slight. Aroma had a combination of sweet grains, caramel and honey with a bit of underlying caramel. Flavor started with sweet grain, slight hay and growing honey that led to quite a sweet finish.

Pours clear golden with thin white head. Aroma is big complex honey, with notes of spices, oak, and vanilla. Taste is big honey up front, with definitely notes of there being many different floral/fruity types of honey. Sweet vanilla middle leads to a bitter spice and oak, with a slightly sweet finish. Nice brew, not too sweet, but complex and layered. Almost like a mix between mead and beer, no sign of alcohol.

Tap at the brewpub. Clear rich yellow pour with a white head. Big honey and floral nose. Palate is a bit syrupy. Full bodied for a light colored beer. Nice.

In short: An blonde ale with excessive amount of honey. Tastes like a lame mead. Meh.
How: Fresh growler. Xmas party with friends. Sent to me by oakbluff, thanks Scott
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is full of honey and strong garden flowers notes. Very girly aromatic. Taste is honey, sweet apples, sweet pears. Basically this tastes like a mead, a lame mead, or maybe a cider, a very lame cider. Somewhat interesting because it is different, but not something I want to drink again. A growler of this was just too much. But I never throw away beer, and I have learned that alcohol can be a very effective solvent. It’s capacity to dissolve relationships and finances is unparalleled.

(Rating #3441)

On draught at the brewpub in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pours a semi-clear golden pale brew with a decent white head that slowly dissolves to a thick ring with good retention. Aroma of highly sweet caramel malt, honey, flowery hops and a touch of barnyeard yeast. Taste is full bodied, lightly carbonated with sweet flavors of honey, flowery grain malt, some yeast and plenty of sugary alcohol. Finish is warm and slightly metalic, candi sugar and yeast aftertaste. Pretty decent brew for a high alcohol beverage.
