Couldy and rich gold, tall soapy head. Aroma is filled with pine and grapefruit hop notes. The taste of this beer is...awesome! There is so much ine resin hops in the flavour, a bit of citrus tossed in and no taste of malt. Surprisingly, for how bitter this is, the beer feels balanced, or at least not so one sided that it is undrinkable. Itís hard to really describe the essence of this beer. A hop heads dream, a complex and wonderful beer.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Winterfest 2007...Hazy colored pour. Heavy grapefruit and citrus nose, very enticing. However, for me the goodness kind of stops there. The massive bitterness detracts from this brew and is rough on the palate IMO. I think two hearted uses a lot of centennial hops, but it is much easier to enjoy. Just a little too bitter; which is surprising for a hop head like myself.

Wow, very very hoppy. Bought a couple of growlers of this, sent one out and enjoyed one with friends. Massive bitter hops with a touch of sweetness that tasted like kiwi.

Lovely orange. Good cream head, dense. A pretty amazing sense of hoppiness, vibrant, attractive aroma. But the flavor is too intense. Incredibly long lasting bitterness. It being on cask added a great dimension that wouldnít have been there. This pushes hops as far as Iíve seen it, which may or may not be a good thing. (cask at brewpub)

22 oz bottle, courtesy of footbalm. I love hops, dont get me wrong, but this one was just rediculous. They certainly arenít kidding by saying that this beer is "fresh", because it actually tasted like a pine tree. Or a sprig of rosemary. I remember years ago, I made a batch of homebrew and I decided I was going to throw in tons of hops.....except, I didnt do any homework and check what would be adequate......the result was a very piney, rough beverage. This one reminded me of that beer.

Sampled draught at the Autumn Brew Review in Minneapolis, October 7 2006. Faintly hazy gold with a thick lasting white head....just massively fresh hoppy nose, lots of citric acidic character but it settles down quickly into something like a grapefruit-creme candy with whiffs of wet spruce, ending up fairly soft, inviting and sweet....until it hits the lips which sense the strongest fresh orange/grapefruit juice texture that theyíve ever experienced, tongue-numbingly acidic and bitter, endlessly continuing through to the long, long finish....thankfully thereís just enough light pale malt to carry through and keep it readily drinkable. Pretty terrific.

A huge thanks to footbalm for getting this beer to me. Deep golden color, lightly carbonated with tongue biting bitterness, this brew was great w/ spicy thai food. Be forewarned, itís a bit one sided in its flavor: there isnít anything in the way of maltiness to balance the hops. So, if you want a hop assault, this one does it nicely.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden shaded brew with a creamy head. Aroma is sweet, floral, and even seems to boast the "freshness" of the centennial hops. Some spicy sensations on the tongue are vegetal like bell pepper. Absolutely bruising in its bitterness and perfect to complement the brisk outdoor winds of fall. A campfire could have made this better as could have a bit of malt to solve its balance issues. So, itís a good, aggressive brew, but itís too one-dimensional and not as impressive as the Simcoe or Centennial pale ales.
