3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a growler into a weizen glass.
Poured a pretty nice hazy golden color with a soft, pillowy, white head. It left a nice lacing in the glass, with plenty visible carbonation bubbles rising to the glass, this one looked pretty tasty. Smell was of banana and clove, but I didn’t find it to be amazing. Taste does have some banana and lemon zest, but cloves mostly dominate this one. Pretty good, just could have been better. Medium bodied, high carbonation, fit in well with this one. Drinkability was ok, but for a weizen I think it could be better. Pretty good, I just expected more.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light color of golden kiwi, letting no light through. Somewhat milky in appearance. Aromas of vanilla ice cream with bananas, lavender hand soap and wet paper. Taut wheat taste is lively but not spicy – lacking along traditional lines. Slightly floral with citrus soda notes. Crisp but smooth palate. Refreshing to some degree, but failing to make up for its shortcomings. Needy, but passable.

Lots of wheat on the nose. Cloudy yellow body with a little head. Definitely a hefe with some bite.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very hazy golden color with a thin white head. Smells faintly of banana and clove, bread yeast is in there too. A slight whiff of bubblegum.
I taste a sweetness up front that is at the same time yeasty. Some spiciness and a bit of banana and citrus follow that. No bubblegum in the flavor. The mouthfeel is sharper and dryer than the aroma and flavor suggest.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Way yellow, pineapple/peach juice blend in color. Standard range of flavors (banana and spice) but relatively intense. Sweet, and in my opinion, too leavy. The carbonation is there, but it needs a bit more lightness and/or effervescence to rise to the top of the style. (on tap at brewpub)

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at brewpub. Nose-pork, soap, mild clove. Hazy body with no head. Taste-light candied banana, clove, and suntan lotion. A standard heffeweisen.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It had a cloudy orange color with a spare head. Similar to the Dukel, I do not care for the taste of this beer or style in general.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very nice for a hefeweizen. This style is one I didn’t care for originally, but it has grown on me and I’ve come to respect and like this style! Lemon, orange, banana, this one has a nice fruity body. Very solid for the style!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
nicely done for a hefeweizen but nothing that set it apart to make to great. same citrus notes and wheat found in others. enjoyable but not memorable.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Decent hefe with some rich wheat taste. A slice of lemon and this is certainly a slice of summer. Missing the banana and clove found in better versions of the style. Of course missing the Gumballhead hops but that’s another story...
