COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name pretty much describes the beer. "Hefe" meaning "with yeast" and "weizen" meaning "wheat". Our version used approximately 60% wheat malt in addition to the 40% malted barley. The result is a light, slightly tart ale that’s hazy in appearance. The perfect beer to quench your summer thirst.

Light gold with a head that lasted through the end of the sampler platter. Good nose, banana and loads of clove. Punchy sweetness in the flavor, lots of clove, very crisp. Full and sticky. Excellent.

Bright color... darkish orange-yellow. Cloudy body, white fizzy head. Fizzy bite on the tongue to.. distracting from the flavor. Fresh lemon banana aroma sticks out more than the usual sampler does. Full bodied wheaty orange, but with a slight stale taste. Pretty good hefe.

Hazy orange color. Husky flavor with orange peel notes. Minimal aroma. A pretty typical wheat beer.

Light orange, cloudy appearance, clove and banana aroma and flavor. Good, starchy white head, decent lacing. Decent creamy mouthfeel. Good thirst quencher in the summer. Standard brewpub Hefe, perhaps a notch or two above average.

Sample at the brewpub. Bright, nearly opaque foggy amber; creamy head and slight banana nose; sourish banana-clove flavors; bit thin, seems well-made but without a lot of character to me.

Cloudy Gold Coloring. White Head. Weat. Yeast. Fruity. This was a very good Hefe.

Fuzzy yellow color with a white head. Aroma is a tad wheatish and has some spice. The taste is quite good: wheat, spice, yeast, lemon, and other citrus hints. A little fruit too.

Super clouded thick, nearly opaque, bright peachy yellow color. Small whitish cap sits loose and frothy. Lacing in strings and spots. The color is remarkably unique to look at up to the light. It generates an awesome glow even though it comes across as being thick as paint. A marvelously picturesque color! Aroma has a pretty strong clove overlay which sits upon a steady wheat malt base with fresh lemon zip and slight banana. Flavors are fine, but I keep getting the clove as a cleaning agent. It gets in the way for me, I can’t quite get a good hold of the banana and lemon, which is there, but the spice takes away from it for me. I let this sit for awhile to see if maybe the warmth would help subdue the clove spice, but nope. It pretty much stays level throughout. Feel is good, about right for a hefe, textured and fluffy carbonation, fizzy bits of sprite lemon zip and a whole bunch of clove spice everywhere within its medium body. Perhaps too much of the clove for me, I like more of the underlying hints then a smack up side the head with the clove stuff in hefes. More banana too. Still, this probably might be more likable then I’m leading to believe. Definately better in quality then most of the brewpub hefe’s I’ve had locally.

Distinctively banana aroma (cloves?) Dark, cloudy yellow, almost orange. Small, off-white head. Diminishing. Excellent lace. Doesn’t have the big, billowy head that most German weissbiers have, but still very attractive. Once again, this could be due to being served in a plastic cup on the patio and not in a weissbier glass. Flavor is strongly banana with some apricot notes. Wow! Very well made. These guys never cease to amaze. Cooling. Definitely does not need the lemon. Can’t get much better than this for a Hefe. Even has a light hop profile. Maybe this is a little over carbonated and has a small head. Otherwise, tough to find flaws.
