This beer was made big and bold topped off with the Summit hop. What is the biggest, baddest place in the world??????? None other than Mt. Everest One of our customers sent in the name Hillary's Step Pale Ale...refering to the last step Sir Edmund Hillary made before reaching the summit at Mt. Everest. This is the man credited with reaching that summit first.

Malts: all Golden Promise. Hops: 100% Summit dwarf. Named to honor a figure famous for mounting a daunting summit. Clear amber/bronze appearance, with a big, lasting creamy head. Lovely aromatics, big, fresh hops, citrus zest and spice...grassy and green. Wonderful. Taste: delcicious. Ample juicy malt, contained bitterness, mixed with fresh hop flavor, with fruity associations, then a bold, brash malty feel kicks in, riding with the higher alcohol. A meaty brew. Beefsteak and applesauce! Great drinking, too, despite the higher booze buzz. A beautiful blend of malt and hops, so smooth, so tasty. Iíll be helping kill these kegs at every opportunity.

I donít get the American strong category, because it just isnít that strong. But good anyway. Fairly well hopped nose with some citrus and pine. Flavor has a biscuit-bread quality from the malt and considerable hop bitterness. One of their better recent beers. Gold color, moderate head.

On cask at the Brewpub: ...and fabulous! Wow, nice gem look to a pale yellow gold. Smeared and glowing haze to its body. Creamy small top of smooth foam. Immense lacing or should I say straight up sheet of foam lays across the glass like a blanket of pillowy foam. Wow! Gorgeous! Aroma is of soft citrus and pine that carryies a well displayed sifting of orangey/pineapple juices mixed with tangerine soaked pine. Taste is quite nice, very firm and peppy with an overall smoothness that is killer. Tenderly soft in citrus juicyness that induces the ideas and tastes of the tropics. Pineapple, red oranges, tangerines, and some nice touches of skin dryness and pith. Earthy yet favors a subtle tone of sweetness over the top with its juicyness. Grassy touches the end with a nicely rounded bitterness thats easy to handle yet has a decent pep and zip to it to keep it interesting. Feel is super smooth and full on cask pulled delight. Oh so tender and smooth with an amazingly creamy feel with a small texture of buzzing hops and citrusy stuff that floats about. This stuff is gold to the throat. So smooth and tender and creamy its a breeze to drink. A damn fine drinker by TH. No surprise there. Good stuff!

Copper color with a thin head. Big aroma of oranges and hops. The taste falls into a sweet and sour malty soup. Very boozy for 7%.

Orange/Gold Color with White Skin. The Summit Hops Come Out Nicely in the Aroma. Piney and Floral..Medium Mouthfeel. Hop Harvest in the Mouth... Fairly Balanced. Hop Spikes Throughout. Dry Hopped Aftertaste. Aggressive Hop Ale.

Stron hop nose disrupted by the alcohol. Clear golden color. Faint white head. Harsh dry hop flavor with a lot of unbalanced alcohol.

Amber pour. Thin white head. Typical hoppy profile...mainly of the citrus variety. A dry grassy finish. This didnít stand out but is solid nonetheless. Town Hall does a good job with their hoppy beers.

Didnít take notes, but this was another nice solid beer from Town Hall. There was a flavor that became stronger as it warmed that I didnít care for. Solid, just not my flavor.

Aroma is peaches, malt, and maybe a bit of marijuana? Slightly cloudy pale ale with small white head. Flavor is somewhat sweet up front, then bitter peaches, and quite bitter at the end. Lively carbonation throughout. Good beer.

Orange magma hued pour, completely clear. Light, crisp notes of citrus on the nose. Ginger bitten sesame seeds and honey wheat bread follow. Crushing bitterness. Firey licks of lavender perfumes. A mashed pulp of flower petals and sunflower seeds with an off-centered citrus hop punch. Not grapefruit, but unusually tangy like nectarine. Palate is slick and harsh, mellowing given some patience and adjustment. Mostly predictable, but not boring. Unique strokes against a proven and dependable canvas.
