3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I was confused about what style brew this was when i drank it. As is typical the waitress had no idea ("i think it’s sorta like Newcastle"). Deep chocolate color with bourbon shades and lacing. Strong chocolate malt aroma, sweet caramel and fudgy characteristics in the flavor. The alcohol became pretty harsh as this went down; i also felt like this tasted a bit stronger than 6.8%. Interesting because it’s hard to pin down.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Another fusion style, something we are seeing a lot of in the Twin Cities with the recent Surly beers. This beer is all about the hops; hops in the aroma, in the flavor, and on the palate. They say it was brewed to celebrate an employee’s wedding, so we might not see it again and that is a shame. Flavor does have some light citrus and malt as well. It tastes strong than it actually is. This is their best new beer in some time.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I first detect a hoppy aroma, but also chocolate and caramel malts. Interesting flavor and very well balanced. The color of this beer is dark red with an off white head and lacing all over the glass. Unique blending and definately worth an order if visiting Town Hall brewery.
