3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big time fruity mango and citrus notes with some resin hop scents. Has some nice lacing in the glass. Taste is big time mango sweetness, just a tad too much. I also get a nice clean hop bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Special tap at brewpub - pours a deep orange with a thick head. Aroma is very strong and inviting - lots of mango and thick, resinous citrus hops - yum! Flavor is very mango forward - it doesn’t simply add another dimension to the base brew, and in some ways it is a notch below the regular MM - still full of citrusy hops, but not a lot of malt to offset things. Thick, chewy palate - excellent experience, but I was a bit exhausted after one full glass of this one...

On tap at brewpub, pours a clear copper orange with a large off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, mellow sweet hops, and caramel malt. Taste has a huge hit of mango bubble gum flavor, followed my citrus, slight pine, and bitterness. Has this many times before but really digging the fresh mango in this batch!! Always, YUM!!

Part of the infusion series at Town Hall - I think I still prefer the regular Mama. Balanced on the sweetness with a hint of mango, but the bitterness of the hops lingering. Had to make sure this place was still up to par prior to RBSG 2013... spoiler alert - it is still up to par.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pour on tap at Town Hall. Looks very similar to the base beer, perhaps a touch of pectin haze. Aroma is big sweet mango puree backed with a slug of tropical hops. Lots of citrus, grapefruit. Taste starts with sweet mango, moving to hop bitterness. Lots of similar flavors in the mango and the hops that work very well with each other. Starts out a bit sweet, but the bitterness in the finish really balances this one out. Not much malt to speak of, any from the base beer seems to get lost in the mango. Slightly vegetal, but in a good way, really emphasizing the perception of a mango pit. Mouthfeel is full, carbonation is light. Awesome beer.

Draft at the source. From notes. Awesome beer. Tropical and citrus fruits all up in it. Less mango than i was expecting considering the name but a great beer nonetheless.

From a growler. Pours amber/orange in color with gushing/overflowing carbonation from the growler. Aroma is some mango and floral notes. Flavor is similar to the regular Masala Mama with just a hint of mango and tropical notes. Tasty stuff.

Tap at Town Hall, this is good stuff too, a great mid meal switch from the other beer I had been drinking, the only gripe I have with this is Masala Mama is the base beer, and its not quite hoppy enough for me and the mangos impart a slightly artificial taste after a while, but honestly I’m not sure how you could change that, this beer was super tasty..

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a little more of an orange color than the standard Masala Mama. Aroma is mango, sugariness. Taste is a citrus fruit explosion. Very sweet, sugary, and thick. I can appreciate it but just a bit too sweet for me. I can see doing a small snifter of it and sipping it.

I'd never seen a growler gush before opening this baby, and it put vinegar + baking soda volcanos to shame. Mango aroma erupts from the liquid with equal vigor. Fresh, juicy hops at every turn; leaves behind a delicious aftertaste as it descends. I typically dislike Single IPAs, so it's rare for me to enjoy one as much as I did with Mango Mama. Would trade for another growler in a heartbeat.
