3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Waited so long...waited so long. And then, I finally got to try this much anticipated beer. Refreshing flavor, but the mango is hardly detectable. I started to taste the mango more as I finished this beer. But the more Iíve tried masala mama in general, the more I realize this is an on and off beer. The mango version was somewhat disappointing. But I was told by another Ratebeerian that mango mama has been better in the past. So I donít exactly know what to think.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at the brewery. Hazy amber pour with great lacing. Nose is only slightly fruity. The taste is actually really good -- and Iím not a fruit beer fan. The natural astringency of the mango pairs well with the hops. The fruit flavor almost acts like a malt to hold up and round out the hoppiness. This isnít just a good fruit beer, itís actually a good all around beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
At brewpub: Orange color with a modest beige head. Nice bits of sticky lacing. Aroma is sort of faint, but hints at fruity sweetness and light florals. The flavor is a smooth fruity tropical sweetness up front, while still allowing the hops to be present in the tail. Nice clean finish with moderate bitters. Some hints of iced tea in the middle. Really quite good and a huge bonus the fruitiness didnít kill the hoppiness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 15, 2012 On tap at the brewpub. Poured a near clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces a bit. Aroma had a nice combination of pine and citrus hops with a nice undertone of sweet mango. A mango flavor throughout balanced nicely with the hops, first citrus, and then a pine finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep orange hue with a medium white head. Aroma is citrus hops and mango. Tastes quite hoppy with citrus, mango, grapefruit, piney and earthy notes, and a bitter hop finish. A well done combination of a heavily hopped IPA and mangos.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This one doesnít do it for me. Overwhelmingly fruity and oddly harsh. I dunno, just wasnít a fan.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours amber with white head, nose up front is hoppy and a bit of mango. Taste up front is lots and lots of piny hops, the mango mixes in a bit of the way through and mixes incredibly well with the citrus, finally leading to a hop bitterness at the end. My favorite fruit beer of all time, the mango is wonderful in this beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap, at brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold with a one finger foamy white head that had decent retention. The nose is a really nice combination of citrusy hops with just a light accent of mango sweetness. Itís very pleasing in itís subtlety. The flavor is similar to the Masala Mama up front with the mangos working really well with the citrus on the finish.. Something with the mix of tropical and citrus fruit really does it for me with this. Medium bodied with a slightly clingy resiny finish. Overall a really nice beer, not quite as good as the original, but itís a nice twist.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Served on-tap at Town Hall. Poured into tulip glass x2.
A - Burnt orange color, thin head with no retention or lacing.
S - Sweet mangos mixed with a light dusting of citrus hops. More mangos then hops, thatís for sure. Both of these characteristics meld well together...much better then I was expecting, in fact.
T - Much like the nose, sweet mangos and hop notes. More hoppy bitterness on the palate when compared to the nose. They have combined these two characteristics together perfectly, and it makes for a damn tasty beer. Not too sweet, not too hoppy...juuusssttt right.
M - Light to medium bodied, gentle light carbonation, clean and refreshing. Syrupy finish, but doesnít detract from anything.
D - I wish I lived a lot close to Town Hall. They continue to produce some of the best stuff out there, and this one is at the top of the list for me. Just a stellar beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2010 Tap at Town Hall. Orangish color, little head. Strong mango/citrus aroma and flavor. Slightly hoppy, finish is a little bitter. Flavors and aromas come out much better as it warms up a bit.
