3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft at the brewpub, served in a seasonal sampler. Pours a clear amber-orange color with a small white head. Notes of toasted malts, straw, toffee, crackers, and chocolate. Doesn’t hit any of those notes too solidly, though. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. So-so marzen.

Has some nice grain and sweet toffee scents. Taste is really sweet and fruit like notes, some malty backbone.

Draught at Town Hall tap. Copper color. This is a traditional oktoberfest with high quality. Some caramel and lots of malt. Very drinkable, and I did not know the abv was so high.

on tap at THT 1Oct2012 Not enough sweetness for me in this, the grain and burnt toffee flavors dominate

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Town Hall. It was beer in a glass but my scribble-scratches were so bad I have no clue what it looked like. Aroma of lightly roasted Munich malts, toffee and mild bready malt. Taste of roasted malt, toffee, light chocolate and grains. Above average for the style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Glass from growler. Pours copper with a kahki foamy head that fades. Aroma is malty with some spice and clove. Taste is again malty caramel and spice with subtle bitterness. Palate is medium and kinda chewy which finished dry.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Clear amber pour with a small soapy off-white head. Nice nose of caramel malts. Lighter but smooth palate. Taste is a not-bold yet rich caramel, with some earthy elements. Nice Octoberfest.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark orange color with a creamy beige head. Smells earthy and floral, lighty bready. The taste adds a light spicey element, perhaps rye? Finishes mildy dry and more of the florals come through.

2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Agree with Syd, kinda boring looking. The aroma had an awful infected smell. Flavor was malty and had some spicy notes as well. Yeah, not much put into the beer (like heart or thought).

Pint at Town Hall looks rather lifeless and dull tea color, no head, no lace. The aroma is pure malt with some faint hops. The flavor is not bad for the style as it provides a good deep malt flavor and a refreshing palate. I think this is an example of something Town Hall felt they had to do, but it seems like a half hearted effort.
