3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nitro pour at the brewery (Minneapolis, MN). Lovely pour shows cascading chocolate milk cakey crown, good retention and stick around with strong lacing throughout. Dark blackish body with some ruby glow as it tapers out from the middle. Aromas are a bit carmelized, biscuity, some nice coffee java jabs and a bit of earthiness. Initial is creamy but not light, a suitable body with nice toasty and pretzel elements, coffee and carmelized malts. A gentle sweetness, creamy Nitro body work well here. Backend is a bit toasty and bitter, lingering coffee and biscuit elements. While the coffee is enjoyable, offering earth and gentle cocoa notes it peters out a bit early and seems to lack a bit of complexity. A tasty beer that could really elevate with some better coffee potency. Nice beer.

Light brown malty pour with a creamy tan head, served on nitro. Super creamy. Malt. Coffee. No bitterness from hops or coffee or chocolate or anything here. Ultra smooth. A little thin on the body for a porter style, but quite tasty.

Tap on nitro at town hall lanes. Chestnut brown with a tall khaki head. Big coffee, malty, biscuits and earthy hop. Great balance of light sweet and dry bitterness. Lighter body, but creamy from the nitro. Solid porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black color with a thick head. Moderate coffee and roasted barley aroma. The coffee flavor seems like a very light blend, enough to notice it, but kind of buried by the chocolate and and roasted barley. Thinish body.

Cask sample. Near black in colour with soft carbonation. Aromas are of fruity British yeast, mild coffee, and chocolate syrup. Flavors are of malted milk, chocolate, light coffee, and more orchard fruit. Light bodied, even with the lower carbonation. Not bad, but I wish there was more coffee presence.

Nitro at GTMW, and one of my favorite beers from the weekend! Poured near black with the perfect nitro topper. The aroma picked up sweet, sweet coffee with lovely, complementary accents of chocolate and vanilla.. just what I needed. The flavor found sweet, roasty coffee throughout, with a little tangy green coffee around.. tasty coffee on the long finish. Buttery smooth through the palate with dense carbonation.. coating and delicious!
