Draft on tap at the brewpub (Minneapolis, MN). Pours a deep ruby copper hue, touch of haze but near transparent, just a deeper dark ruby body and colors. Frothy offwhite head atop stays as a firm film, laces ok. Looser filmy layer but stays intact. Aromas are a gentle maltiness, red caramel and toast. Some toffee, toast, some biscuits. Gentle grass, spice, and a bit sweet on the nose. Initial is a bit more dry, firmly carmelized, quite toasty, dry, a bit of crystal malts. Firm dryness, melllow hops and dryness, grass and florals. A good mellow body, tapers off. A bit of shock on the carmelized elements, the palate adjusts. Firmer dryness into the backend, touch of girth. Simple yet enjoyable.

Tap at Town Hall. This is pretty elite in its style. Deep amber pour - clear. Spotty white head. Malty with a good dose of spice. Nice.
