3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml red wax bottle shared by Thorpe429: Pours a clear deep copper bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasted caramel and light fruity nose with [plenty of bourbon oaky complexity. Starts with pretty good fullness and lightly caramelized sugars with some light fruits and a healthy amount of warming bourbon oak in the finish. Could hide the alcohol a little better, but should age well.

750mL red wax. Clear light amber pour bubbles. No head formation. Richer bourbon nose. Vanilla, small tomato, pepper. Taste is drier, dark chocolate, some nut skins, mild astringency. Not really silky or thick. Mild caramel. Dry and bitter. Quite hoppy for style. Nice. Drinkable. No cloying.

Another big thanks to dcschiller for this. It pours a nice clear garnet with tan head. The aroma offers up loads of bourbon, bourbon-y vanilla and boozy heat. Moments after it was poured I got a pulse of rich hoppiness and a bit of maybe molasses that dropped out of the aroma quick. The taste has bold smooth bourbon flowing into vanilla notes and plenty of booziness. Behind the bruising barrel notes are glimpses of pine hops and fleeting maltiness. This is just too barrel forward for my taste.

Pours a clearm amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is big on bourbon and vanilla. Taste is sweet with some bitterness. Medium bodied and sticky. Bitter finish with some alcohol heat. Probably would benefit with some age on it.

Bottle… WPB Town Hall Meeting 2012… Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma furnishes toasted coconut, almonds, pistachios, and red wine with undercurrents of toffee and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor is hot, but caramely, bourbony and very tasty. Finishes malty, but also alcoholically bitter. Many thanks to landhoney and newcigarz for making this meeting possible!

h ho ho, this is good stuff here. its not the most refined, its not the smoothest. but man is this stuff tasty! tons of spirit here, tastes like jim beam for sure, you dont miss that at all. this barrel aged barleywine is big, brash and in your face, just what i like in this typw of beer! you know exactly what you are getting into with this one and it follows through to the t. the pour is dark colored but crisp at the same time, beatiful spirit like color. nice amount of head and a constant skimming along with nice spotting in my glass make this just right for me. the aroma and flavor are right there together, hige jim beam on top of a really quality barleywine. i cant describe exactly what it is, but something int he taste and mouthfeel of this one just lets you know that you are really drinking a truly world class brew here. its a beast thats been reigned in just right for your ultimate pleasure. awesome.

On tap @ the brewery.
Cloudy amber pour with a slight tan head. Nose is oak, dark fruit, pine, and bourbon. Flavors follows suit with some toffee and caramel. Very smooth finish and crazy drinkable for the ABV. I went back for more of this one!
