COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Twisted Reality Barleywine this year was very nice. Enjoy the result of extended aging in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Mmmm toffee.

Growler from Town Hall (19/2/13) Aroma of fudge, caramel, alcohol. Medium hazy-brown with an insignificant head. Not getting much in the way of barrel aromas, although some wood/whisky comes out in the finish. Taste is mostly sweet, with a warming boozy finish. This is like the beer equivalent of fudge. Not chocolate fudge though, but the grainy mostly-sugar fudge that nobody really likes. Evidently this fudge is considerably more enjoyable as a beer, as this is the best barleywine that I’ve had so far this season.

Growler... Clear brown ale with mahogany highlights and a thin, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is an earthy, fruity, boozy collection of wood, dates, bourbon and ethanol. Full bodied and slick with jazzy carbonation. The flavor is of boozy, hot bourbon with an afterthought of dark, dried fruits. Growler courtesy of ctipping!

Growler - pours dark amber. The nose is sweet, malty, vanilla, and oak. The taste is sweet, a little bitterness, and brown sugar. There is a good amount of booziness in this one but it's still enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler shared by eorwar at DLD. Served in a mini-snifter. A: Pours brackish orange color with a light tan head forming on the pour. It recedes a to thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace down the glass. S: A lot of barrel notes, but it’s nice. Caramel malts with smooth bourbon and light oak. Light notes of leather with a little roast. T: More of the same as the nose, but a tad sweeter which I like. Lots of leathery and caramel goodness with a smooth Buffalo Trace bourbon that lingers in the background. The barrel notes of vanilla and oak are a nice compliment. M: Medium carbonation level with a smooth barrel finish. Medium bodied with a slight chew to the body. O: A really nice barrel aged barleywine. I enjoyed another pour of this one as well. The barrel really compliments the base and it doesn’t overpower any other flavors. A nice drinker at barely under 10%. Serving type: growler 05-19-2013 13:57:56
