COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most welcoming British pubs off a house ale or "pub ale" — this is ours. We use only the finest English barley, hops and yeast to create this classic English-style pale ale. It is noted for its nice malt flavor balanced with a medium hop presence. The pub ale is often referred to as our house "session beer" (a beer you can drink a number of and not fall off your barstool).

Copper appearance. The aroma is phenomenal here. Fruity, citrus, floral, caramel notes, and so much going on there. I could’ve just smelled this one all night long. Flavor isn’t as exciting, but is nice and sharp with citrus hops, and is well rounded. Quite tasty beer.

Growler through recent swap thanks kbutler1. Pour has a rich amber color with copper highlights and a cap of white head. Aroma has a fair bit of malty sweetness, citrus hops, dank herbs, and some pine resins. Mouth feel is a medium and the carbonation is great for a growler! Flavor really hits with a big malted body, pine resins, dry citrus, light tropics, creeping bitterness, and some perfume on the finish. Solid mouth feel for a low abv. beer with an assertine hop side.

On tap at Town Hall. Pours a clear golden orange color with white head. Citrus, grassy, hoppy flavors. Drinkable, hoppy pale ale.

I dig the hell out of this beer. Mild and earthy with a great malt base, the beer shines when the Simcoe hops take hold, providing a solid bitterness and a grapefruit tang that adds lovely depth to the brew. The abv rocks as well, meaning a second pint is easy to handle.

Draft at Town Hall. Pours clear old gold, thin to medium white head, fine lacing. Nose is nectarine, mandarin, orange pekoe tea; Flavours of orange rind, grapefruit pith, some earth and grass. Gentle on the finish. Great!

Sampler at the brewpub. It poured an orange color with a white head. The aroma was of hazelnut, some light pale malt with a bit of grassiness. The flavor was of honey, hazelnut, earthy hops and oats. A decent English pale ale.

On tap at Town Hall. This beer had a great hoppy aroma, but the flavour was a bit lackluster in comparison. Still, pretty good.

On tap at Town Hall. Light amber with a creamy tan head. Aroma of west coasty woodsy and resinous hops, pine and pale malt. Taste is resinous with pine, pale malt, mild grassy hops and finishes up (and stays) nice and bitter.

This was our fourth ale from the Town Hall Brewery. The ale was 4.8% abv and IBU 65. The simcoe hops has a very distinct taste of citrus and dominates the ale. There was also herbal falvors like rosemary. The ale poured a clear light amber into a 16 oz glass. The head was frothy with lacing. The finish was special with some bitterness. The ale could be enjoyed all day.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Poured from a tap into a pint at Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery in Minneapolis, Minn. Color was honey copper with a ½-inch of head. Lacing was light and stayed that way throughout. First smell was strong hops. Good mix of pine/citrus (pineapple?) and caramel. First taste was bitter, but hops followed soon thereafter along with pineapple (citrus). A little hoppier than I liked. Either way, I was a bit disappointed. A little bit better mouthfeel than the taste. Was refreshing, thanks to some mild carbonation. Not a bad beer, but I wasn’t that crazy about it. The cask style seemed to be the better option here.
