3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A combative hiss comes from the lid as I pry it off and pour carefully into my glass, for this brewer is not known for filtering most of his beers and long may that continue. Reason being, is that while appearance may please the eye, a dash of cloud or sediment adds to the flavour and this beer is loaded. There is a somewhat Bourbon-like aroma of fresh oakiness, vanilla and dry corn (not sweetcorn, there’s no discernible measure of DMS to me, thank you very much) and there is a plentiful aspect of apricot and juicy peach as well that comes through in both aroma and flavour, riding a rush of effervescence that stays on the tongue, provoking a long sweet pastry finish. An easy beer to like.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The carbonation tickles the tongue then there is a bash of grassy hoppiness in the middle and a sort of caramel finish. It’s pretty much like a bell curve. There isn’t a lot bad to say, this is refreshing, light and very very drinkable, although the hop tang might put you off after a couple .

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
This guy knows how to make nice English ales. The beer looks as good as an ale should look in the glass, with dark golden hazy and a creamy white head. Fruity and floral on the nose, bitter grassy with a bite, and with quite an abrupt finish, it could gain from a bit more complexity. Still, it is a very very pleasant bitter.

Quite foamy head and pours a nice cloudy golden colour. Not overly bitter but is quite pleasant.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 An enjoyable English ale with a nice bitter kick. Probably best enjoyed at cellar temperatures via hand pull...

rather disappointing to be honest, bland and not much flavour coming through at all. a very mild ale which strikes me as the ale version of a pale lager - though to be fair, not as bad as that.
