Bottle from Plonk. A really nice english bitter, classic ESB aromas and flavours. Loved it.

Bottle. Deep copper amber with a finely bubbled big ochre head that leaves some decent lace early on. Very fruity aroma that brings to mind caramel apples. Flavours of toasty toffee and fruit (apples, quince), with a subtle nuttiness that creeps in as the beer stands for a while. Not especially bitter. Mouthfeel is incredibly creamy. I really lked it.

330ml bottle. Solid looking in the glass with rich malty aromas that bounce up into your face. Deep light tan head that looks majestic atop a lightly copper coloured base. Strong malt flavour with some sweet flavours that hit the back of the mouth. Overall very good.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2014 A solid bitter beer. Nothing special - but enjoyable nonetheless. Would not skip a session fuelled by this.

Bronze with creamy beige head. Toasty, marmalade, some jellybean sweetness. Delicious smooth sweetish/toffee texture and flavour.

Handpump at HZ. My definition of a session ale. My glass evaporated before me. Nothing hugely 'in your face' going on, but I could happily have another (and another..) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours golden with good head. Aroma is slightly malty and hoppy. Bitter smooth creamy taste. Kinda made me burp after each swig though. Not sure why.

Bottle. A good looking ESB - dark amber with a large foamy head. Juicy and floral malt on the nose. Some astringency on the palate, which sharpens up the malt. There is a creaminess though, along with floral flavours. I’m not typically a fan of ESBs, but this is pretty good.

Tasted on tap at Pommeroy’s, handpull. Warm nutty brown-amber in colour under a tight white collar of head that lasted to the bottom of the glass. Good malt driven aroma of thick brown sugar, walnuts and malt biscuits. Similar flavours upon tasting, sweet and full with lots of body but not a great deal of bitterness. I did like this beer and my offsider and I went back for seconds, but sadly it sent my blood-sugar through the roof. Probably worth it though.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2014 From the comments below, seems to me way different from the beer of 2-3 years ago. Very cloudy amber, chicken broth cloudy, really, with a beige head that hangs around, no matter what. Little to whiff, exempt for a faint aroma of pale lager. The referred sweetness is vague, mostly hidden under a rather strong grassy, citrus bitterness. This wouldn’t have been my first choice, as I’d have expected more of that paradoxical sweet, more mellow, malty, "bitter". Still, it’s not bad!
