3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Aroma of passion fruit and fresh hops evident, even when the glass was still sitting on the table. Thin head but good colour and clarity. Refreshing flavour at the sweet end of the style. Very nice and more-ish.

Bottle, shelf life to 2016, at 5.2%. Another bottle, different label, at the same supermarket, shelf life to 2017, at 5.3%. I wonder if the figure describing 5.5% alcohol above is correct. Anyway...wow, what a lovely Pilsner. Given it’s such a specific "style", I find it difficult to appreciate any creative deviations as being within the boundaries. This beer has certainly a lovely New Zealand character of tropical fruits on the aroma and flavour, but without overwhelming the basic fundaments of a Pilsner. It keeps that dry grassiness, the crispness, the kind bitterness of a true Pilsner. Light on the tongue, quite light coloured, but with a great creamy white head, it’s absolutely superb.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very nice. First nose has typical but subtle fresh hop but soon dissipates and the aroma becomes more like a hayshed on a hot summer day. Pours extremely clear light yellow, one of the most transparent beers I’ve seen. Very light carbonation, fine bubbles are really only evident when the beer is disturbed, so I rather mean-spiritedly gave it only a 4 for appearance. Taste is very light and quenching peach with a sweet backend finishing in a touch of hay and white pepper.

Bottle from Hamilton Wine, recommendation of Chris, thank you sir! Clear golden yellow color, small white head. Aroma of fruity, grassy hay. Taste is softly bitter straw and hay. Nice stuff.

500mL thanks to Travlr fresh from NZ. Pours a fuller haze, bright glowing straw near white. Oh yes- zero specialty malt. Thick white foam with big lacing. Webby, dense. Nose is out of this world- homegrown Motueka hops? Yes please. Fresh lemongrass, ginger, peaches (!), fresh garden blossoms. Holy cow. Taste is juicy peach, fruity, ginger, lemongrass, quenching pale malt. MrChopin approved world class pilsner. Hint of sugar, cake, and vanilla in the finish. Not soapy or apple heavy. World class.

Nice fresh vibrant pilsner with citrus and pine needle notes on the nose. Very clean and superb for a hot summers day (which unfortunately it is not). Not overly hoppy but flavours are engaging.
