3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma of candied sugar, apples and some Belgian yeast. Flavour of sweetened apples and pears, lots of yeast, some dry citrus peel, with mild astringency. Very good - very authentic tasting.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, shared at RBAG 2013. Deeply golden colour, clear, with a thick creamy head that leaves scant lace. Aroma is sweet and eatery with boozy undertones. The palate is heavy with candy-kissed pale malts, a touch of marzipan, but little spice or further character. Too simple, sweet, and heavy for me. My hopes were up when I read the label description, but I was disappointed to find very little spice on the palate.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled during VCBW 2012 in Vancouver, BC at the Salt Building pouring a deep golden color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is light fruit and yeast with some hints of cloves and coriander spice. Taste is fruity and malty sweet with a yeasty dry finish with some mild hop bitterness noticed as well. Medium bodied with abundant carbonation tickling the tongue nicely. A nice representation of the style and definitely recommended.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy golden color, almost no head. The aroma is mild, there is some coriander. Bold body structure; the spicy character is present, but it’s moderately sweet, too much for a Tripel, and quite oily; there is some fruitiness, esters, from the yeast; strong bitterness; the alcohol feeling is also too evident.
