PERFECT STORM: noun 1. what occurs when the perfect mix of people come together to form a brewery; 2. a delicious oatmeal stout

We’ve got a truly great team here at Townsite and every day we are thankful that we get to work with each other producing some really great beer. As Chloe is often heard to remark ’What we have here is a perfect storm: from brewing, to sales, to distribution & marketing.’

To celebrate this serendipity, Cedric has brewed up the perfect storm of a beer: a rich, round, roasty oatmeal stout using flaked oats and roasted barley to add to our house roast malts (Chocolate, Crystal & CaraAroma) and hopped with Columbus, Cascade & Golding.

Rating #1057 - April 11, 2014 - Bottle from Co-op. #beerguychrisgeekbeer #week15 Dark, dark brownish copper poor with a weak tan foam that bubbles away super quickly. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, and caramel. Taste is roast malts, with a hint of caramel sweetness. Oatmeal character shines in the finish, and brings balance to the beer. Tasty.

Bomber, purchased at Lucky’s Liquor while visiting the Inlaws. Dark Black, thin head. roasted cacao aroma. Slight hop bitter with a clean finish. Certainly screams oatmeal stout to me. Very happy with this Townsite offering. I would rank it among the best I have had from them. Only wish I could get their beers without having to visit the In laws... Although, it makes the trip worthwhile. Extremely enjoyable. Thanks Townsite!!

Dark black. Aroma of paint thinner or chemicals. Thin body, quite a bit of bitterness. Not entirely enjoyable as an oatmeal stout.
