3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark black with large thick creamy head that dissipates slowly.
Aroma is creamy malts with light coffee and chocolate scent.
First sip is creamy sweet like coffee ice cream and chocolate. Slight nuttiness present. Medium to strong sweetness with a slight bitter finish. Tastes very good!
As it wams up there is more chocolate more bitter and slight saltiness

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at St. Augustineís, Vancouver
Dark mahogany color, some light goes through, with compact head. Mild aroma of roasted malt with a bread accent. Smooth, quite dry in the front, mellow later; good roasted malt flavor with some firewood and oven baked bread, mildly chocolatey; correct bitterness, some of it from the roasted malt, hiding the hop resins.

Bottle, shared with Parksy at 5am during the Canada vs. Sweden gold medal hockey game. Medium brown with an average white head that leaves no lace. Powdery cocoa, light roast. Thin, bordering on watery. Just ok.

On tap at Bitter Tasting Room on Hastings in Vancouver. Very dark, but one can see a little light through. Strong licorice impression here, Iím afraid. Iíll drink this, but Iím not up for another.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Clear deep red copper, lasting small creamy tan head. Aroma of smoked malts and dark fruit. Bitter dark burnt malt taste, some cacao, coffee and sweet nuttiness. Soft carbonation, medium body, low hopped. Cacao intensifies as it warms, flattens and thins toward the finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark Brown pour with beige head. Aroma is slightly sweet with good roasted notes - chocolate, coffee. Kind of thin in the body. Flavour again is roasted malts with a light bitterness and some salt. The finish is a predominant burnt malt flavour. This reminds me of burnt buttered toast.

Pours a brown with a light red hue with a lite beige head. The nose caramel coffee, and a hint of date and raisin. The pallet is sweet coffee and finishes with a slight astringency and bitterness and a lingering coffee flavor.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650ml bottle pours almost black with a reddish tinge. Has a 2 finger light beige head that leaves some thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light chocolate with some hints of coffee and roasted grains. Taste is roasty malt and coffee bitterness with a nice balance of chocolate malt sweetness. Had a little sourness, which could mean the bottle is old (could not find a date on the bottle). Medium bodied with mild carbonation. A pretty decent porter when taking the sourness out of the equation.
