Hazy amber, smells like a debacle - Mega bubblegum - not good stuff. Sticky, with some amber chewiness, light phenols. Gluey, chewy finish. Takes the worst of the Belgian yeast/hop components rather than the best.

On tap at Moon Under Water, Victoria. Pours hazy copper, small off-white head. Nose of fusel and crystal malt. Flavour is sweet, hint of orange, with a lot of fusel. The version I had was seriously off; I double-checked with the waitress because it didnít taste like a Belgian IPA, just a higher-gravity amber thatís been fermented at way too high a temperature. Iíll try to seek this out in bomber form as others obviously had a different experience.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
Lagerboy (1209) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 18, 2013
Bomber, courtesy of Eyrish. Murky copper brown eventually clears, big lasting creamy tan head. Boozy aroma of sweet roasted malt, citrus hop and yeast. Strong roasted caramel malt taste dominates, some dark fruitiness and citrus hop bitterness, Belgian yeast hiding underneath. High carbonation, full bodied, more aggressively hopped. Strong alcohol presence gives way to a mellower malty bitter finish. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

Bottle. Dark amber pour, huge creamy head. Caramel, resin, quite sweet and malty, bitter finish with hints of spicy belgian yeast. Pretty good one.

Pours a hazy copper. Aroma is candy and fruit. Taste is pretty good. Hops and Belgian come through nice.

DuffMan (6639) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 17, 2013
Bottle, generously shared by Ferris. Deep copper colour, which right away is a bit of a surprise, given the style. Fruity caramel really is the dominant theme here, some kirsch-like notes, raisins. The finish is bitter, but thatís about as close to an IPA as this comes-- more like an English strong ale. Tasty enough, just odd-- itís like this is a hamburger calling itself a hotdog.

Ferris (3790) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 14, 2013
Bottle - Raisin, earthy and some sweetness. Cloudy copper think bu persistent head. Brown sugar, malty, bitter and a dark malt aftertaste. Not sure where the Belgian IPA comes from, this is nice but poorly described. A malty, bitter sweet strong ale is how it comes across, without a strong Belgian yeast presence.

Eyrish (92) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 24, 2013
Dark copper in colour. Magnificant head, seems to grow. Lacing is present. and thick. Lively carbonation. Citrus hop forward aroma. A sweet butterscotchesqe initial touch, finishes with a hint of citrus bitter. Feels great on the palate, creamy and full bodied. A very impressive belgian IPA

20oz pint on tap at the Underground Tap and Grill pours a light amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing. Aroma is fruity with some caramel. Taste is a fruity and caramel sweetness with a orange rind bitterness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation leaving a slight tingle on the tongue. Overall, a pretty solid IPA that is worth checking out.

Hazy amber, little or no head.Nose of light citrus/light malt.Carmel fore, diacetyl hints, molasses & alcohol. Medium hop finish.Too sweet for style. This Is a Barleywine not an IPA (Belgian or otherwise). The second sub par beer I have had from this brewery.
