Commercial Description:
Dead Reckoning is unfiltered and weighs in at 5.8% abv and 53 IBU’s. It features Pilsner, Caramel, Chocolate and Roasted malts along with Chinook and Vanguard hops. “The outstanding taste and flavor of Dead Reckoning originates in the chocolate and roasted malts,” says John Trogner. “There is a nice hoppiness in the front of the beer, but the rich, smooth mouth feel is what really stands out.”

Poured from a 12-0z bottle. A dark, brown beer with some ruby highlights at the edge. Aroma of roasted malt and sweet milk chocolate. A chocolate malty taste, with roasted flavors also coming through. Hoppier than most porters, with the nice bitter finish.

What an awesome, awesome porter. Picked up a 6 of this at the brewery while in H-burg. Bold porter flavor topped with a hoppy finish. Outstanding.

A very decent porter. An average nose and not much head nor lace, of heavy brown colour. Above average mouthfeel, malty more than roasty, though both elements are there. Maltiness makes it a breeze to drink.

12oz pour into a tulip glass. A nice coffee colored head that was huge and aromatic. This is my favorite porter except for Victorys but that is a huge porter. As far as a standard porter it gets no better than this for American versions. Nice and hoppy for a porter too, both in the nose and at the back end. Lacing is nice as well as the stickiness without cloyingly sweet after taste. Begins with the sweet malt backbone and hops fighting for dominance and finishes with the perfect compromise to both. AWESOME

Bottle to chilled glass. Nice head. Coffee smell. Mouthfeel very full & creamy. Delicious.
