Pours a deep brown that is almost black with a big creamy and lasting light tan head that leaves good lacing. Smell is dark roastiness with a very prevalent hop character making its way in the nose. They mix very well giving it a really nice unique, nice nose. Taste is dark chocolate roastiness, with a great vibrant hop character that gives it a fresh almost minty flavor behind the roastiness. Moderate to slightly bubbly mouthfeel making this medium bodied porter extremely drinkable. Definitely one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite porter.

Aug 26, 2008 12oz bottle served in an English pint glass. Dark brown pour with a big creamy tan head. Smells of cocoa powder, fig, and earthy hops. Tastes of chocolate and earthiness. More bitter than most porters. Nice smooth body, everlasting head. Very nice.

Aug 25, 2008 Bottled shared by robert at Stateline. Dark in color. Taste was roasted malt, hops and small amount of chocolate. The hops stand out up front but then take way to the nice smoothness of the roasted malts and chocolate. Overall a good beer that I enjoyed! Thanks again robert for sharing the beers tonight!

Aug 24, 2008 Dark brown/black color with no head. Aroma of roasted malts, hops, and chocolate. Taste is mostly roasted malts, some hops, and chocolate. Very nice beer!

Aug 22, 2008 Pours a dark brown, almost black with a nice tan head. There is a rich hop aroma to this beer with some chocolate notes coming through. Tastes lightly hoppy (heavily hopped for a porter) with toasty, chocolatey notes coming through. I’m not a big fan of porters and stouts but the hopiness made this one thoroughly enjoyable and I really appreciated the uniqueness of this beer.

Aug 21, 2008 This is a good solid porter. There wasn’t anything THAT unique about it like most of there other stuff, that was the only reason that I was disappointed.
