Commercial Description:
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

This beer is more like an APA. Strong hop presence combined with a sweet caramel taste and mild citrus flavors make it very enjoyable. Possibly the best beer they make.

Purchased at Total Wine in Alexandria, 12 oz bottle pours ruby amber in color with little head. Aroma of caramel and roasted grains. Front palate of warm malt with spicy (nutmeg, cinnamon, clove?) middle and finish of mild but crisp hoppiness to give a well rounded flavor. Easily paired with a variety of light to mid-weight fare. Great for a spring, summer or autumn session beer.

Amber color with white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Caramel malt taste with nice bitter Hop taste.

Purchased at Perfect Pour - Dark shiny copper, creamy off white head. Toffee peach aromas ride light toasty pine notes. Soft hoppy flavor balances on a rich caramel backbone. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, lightly bittersweet finish. 6% ABV makes this a decent cross-over session ale in my book...

Love this brew. Pours amber in color with a thin white head. Aroma is amazing, smells of sweet malt and sugary fruit. Taste is very fruity and hoppy with nice carbonation. Crisp finish. Makes a nice session beer.
