Vas19 (211), Maryland, USA Apr 9, 2008 Pours red amber with an off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with a bit of malt sweetness. Flavor is also hoppy with a nice balancing malt character. Decent body. Flavors are good but not bold enough to be great.
wickedpete (551), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Aug 19, 2008 I’ve been drinking this all the time lately. I love the smooth, thick, dry mouthfeel and the toasted chocolaty flavor. It’s got just a light bitter hoppy note that comes through in the finish deliciously. Svesse (1621), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 (Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark amber colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dark fruit, caramel, toffee and slightly rubbery hops. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, caramel, toffee, hints of chocolate and spicy but modest bitterness in the finish. Nice, but lacking something extra. malrubius (402), USA Aug 17, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear amber with lasting head. Citrus aroma. Mild carmael with bracing and dry bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Sure it’s tasty, but is it an amber ale or just a copper colored IPA. You can’t just bury everything in fresh hops. I sometimes think you could fresha nd dry hop a Belgian white and it would score a 91 here. This is a good beer, but I prefer and amber to be very caramel and toasty and malty and biscuity, not an IPA with caramel coloring. jetfande (7), , Alabama, USA does not count Aug 15, 2008 Very happy with this one. This is my idea of a session beer. Everything about this beer is simply good. Reminds me of a souped up Yuengling with better color, taste, everything, the works. Hopheads should enjoy this one, overall better brew than 60 Minute IPA Chipper (45), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2008 Pours a dark amber with a big tan head. Lot’s of hops and a little malt in the aroma. Nice hop flavor but not overpowering. A very drinkable beer.
