Not much to add to the other comments. A copper body with nearly no white head or lacing. A fantastic balance between strong hops and a sweet berry/bread malt character. Semi-sweet finish. A somewhat clean palate, but never dull. A good beer, if a little straightforward, and the balance is superb

Jul 17, 2008 12 oz, bottled 12/26/07. Clear copper with a two-finger head that lasts and laces well. Aroma is fresh grapefruit drizzled with honey. Earthy-dirty honey and molasses flavors are mixed with tea leaf, grapefruit, peppery wood, and pine resin. Medium body is a little sticky and tongue tingly.

Jul 11, 2008 Amber/orange in color, semi-cloudy. Bright citrus/piney nose. Decent off0white head that doesn’t last too long, but doesn’t disappear either. Smooth palate, silky. Nice, well rounded flavor, there’s sweet malt there but the hops are the star here. Good, good stuff. Troeg’s ales outshine their lagers, IMHO.

Jul 8, 2008 Amber, clear beer with small off-white head. Cat’s pee, valerian, grapey hopse, sweet oxfat. Again cat’s pee in the taste, valerian and cassis. Hop’s cake, nearly sweet in the aftertaste, rosewater-like. Medium bodied, bit flat. Nice beer, but "Imperial" is ridiculous, but this is definitely "amber" on a different level. Thanks, CK !

Jul 5, 2008 Clear amber-ish color with a white head that retained well and left good lacing. Smell was plenty hoppy as expected; piney, resiny hops dominate, perhaps a bit of citrus too. There is a little bit of malt prescence, emphasis on the little; this one is plenty hoppy with the same attributes as noted in the nose. Highly carbonated with less than medium body. This is pretty good, would definately drink more of it and it would probably find a good home in my fridge if not for it’s distance from me. Luckily for me I have a somewhat-local brewer making a hoppy amber so no worries for me. Worth trying if you run across it.

does not count  Jul 4, 2008 this is one of my favorites which i haven’t seen anywhere locally in a bit :( delicious ale with a great orange/lightish copper complexion and a thick, thick creamy head that remains long after the pour. has a definite citrus flavor with a perfect balance of bitterness. i love it!
