Commercial Description:
Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Tasting @ Capone’s: Poured a clear golden yellow with not too much head. The aroma was that of some pine and earthy hops. The flavor was well balanced, with a clean hoppy finish. Very drinkable and very good tasting Pale Ale.

Aroma - Toffee and light fruit, faint citrus and earthy hops

Appearance - Thin, off white head under a clear gold pour, lasting thin layer of foam, sliding wispy lace

Flavor - Background of light, fruity sweetness, up front, mild citrus zest bitterness finishes

Palate - Medium body and carbonation, clean, zesty dryness

Overall - This is a good, drinkable, APA with nice balance and nothing that is overstated or excessive.

12oz bottle served in a shaker glass. Golden pour with an inch thick head forming on top that lasts for most of the glass. Smells of citrus, grass, and pine. Smooth drinking with a big flavor, though not too much to keep it from being sessionable. Flavors of pine, caramel, and citrus. Finishes clean and thirst quenching. Very well done.

poured a nice deep amber hue with a nice slightly off white head. Aroma had mostly pine notes and some caramel notes. Avery crisp flavor with a great hop profile. Medium body.

I’m going from memory here, but I had a couple of glasses of this stuff in Gettysburg a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Very good pale ale, and as good a reason as any to get back to Pennsyvlania soon.
