egajdzis (2811), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA May 4, 2008 Poured a clear golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toast, toffee, light citrus, and floral hops. Taste was sweeter, toffee, light honey, citrus, pine, some caramel, low bitterness, and a dry, toasty finish. keepersj12 (341), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA May 3, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Sweet at first then very dry and bitter. Nice aroma of hops with some sweetness in there. Good stuff. acrdz (3891), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 26, 2008 Draft @ Troegs a large tan head settles down on top of a dark brown walnut colored body. Nose of fresh English Ale yeast, pungent and nutty with whiffs of peanut shells, crackers and caramel, and a faint smell of dried, aged woody hops. Flavor is similar, bright and fresh, that’s the best thing, and the yeast is again nutty and full of peanut shell and cracker flavors, with a small resinous chewy caramel malt flavor as well. Ok to above average, but certainly not anything outstanding. jehoey (636), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 12, 2008 Updated: Apr 27, 2008Tasted on co2 and firkin at Blast from the past at Troegs. Poured deep copper color with a tanish head. Aroma was very balanced, caramel malt, and resinny hops. Flavor is very balanced at first, resinny hops like the aroma and a good malt backbone. body is light on co2 and more full from the firkin. I definitely perfered the firkin version better, the flavor was more mellow and harmonious. Beer finishes hoppy, much more aggressive then any bitter I drank in England. beerbill (1068), Laurel, New York, USA Jun 20, 2007 From my long lost notes. Purchased as part of a sampler case September, 1999 while on vacation in Hershey, PA. Pours a deep, clear amber with a moderate, fluffy off-white head. Very nice aroma of caramel and malt. Flavor was again caramel and malt balanced with a surprisingly hoppy finish. Good stuff!
