bu11zeye (3573), Frisco, Texas, USA May 10, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by yarrow and ginger becoming more fragrant as it warms with notes of orange peel, banana, light coriander, juniper, and perfume. The flavor carries much from the aroma with the yarrow and ginger then leading deeper with cinnamon, light citrus, juniper, and nutmeg. Enjoyable! Nice experiment with the yarrow, which in my opinion turned out much better than Fluxus. Would not be surprised to see more experimentation of yarrow as a substitute for hops in Belgian influenced beers.
Linus_Stick (1470), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 18, 2008 A nice S/H/V. Aroma was pretty weak. Coriander, spice and yeast. Pour was a hazy light gold with a one finger white head and very murky and non-moving. Taste was hot and spicy. Tastes like the usual tripel with orange peel, citrus, black pepper and the juniper berries in the background. Thick mouthfeel and a little cluttered. Tastes like they were trying too hard to put too many flavors in here. hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 Bottle…Thinkin’ ‘Bout Thirteen Hours O’ Drinkin’ (tew man wrecking crew)... Cloudy golden ale with almost no head (small and white). The nose is sweet and spicy with esters of banana and Bazooka bubble gum. Full-bodied and sticky with dancing carbonation. Mostly sweet and spicy with alcohol warmth. Lightly tangy. Wow! Way too spicy... way too sweet… way too hot... overdone! Bottle provided by mgumby10! mgumby10 (1502), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Jun 15, 2008 Pours a pretty clear straw gold color, with a small white head. Smells of a unique array of spices, banana, orange citrus, and cinnamon. The flavor was heavily spiced as expected, tons of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon, andcitrus fruit all trying to jell together, but comes up a bit disheveled in my opinion. Seems a bit overdone, like they tried to hard to make it weird. Got a lot of bubblegum in the aftertaste. Pretty obnoxious after a while. Too much for me. decaturstevo (1124), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jun 10, 2008 A very spicey aroma, clovish with corriander. Slighlty hazed yellow pour. Very spiced flavor with hinst of bannana and some abv warmth. Full solid palate. Alot of abv riding on a good flavor solid spiced beer very good to me.
