Strykzone (1334), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 3, 2009 Bottle in Virginia. Pours a clear golden hue with a one finger white head. Not very much retention. Honey and straw aroma. Flavor begins with honey and soon becomes grassy, dry and quite bitter. Hops give sourness and a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Just an OK pils. dagimp (48), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 3, 2009 Six pack of bottles from the brewery. Pours sunshine yellow with a couple fingers of light head. Smell is of hops. Taste is very clean and, as advertised, hoppy. I like the hoppiness of this pilsner. Of the better pils’ I’ve tasted, this one has the most bite to it. Overall, an excellent beer and one of the better of the style. Will drink again for sure. inkubus27 (185), Highland, Indiana, USA Jul 3, 2009 Pours a really light straw color... about as light as coors light. Aroma of saaz or german style hops... spicy backed by a little bit of malt. Flavor is slightly biting bitter from the hops, with a nice squeaky clean malt flavor. This is a really good pilsner! hellomisterp (4), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jul 1, 2009 Poured from bottle into a Weizen glass. Not much of an aroma outside of a lemon zest. A great outdoor session beer with some hops up front to a sweet finish. Nothing shocking. DeadGirl (48), New York, New York, USA Jul 1, 2009 On tap at RnH (NYC): Tastes like corn and crisp banana. All pilsners taste the same to me and unfortunately, this one’s no different. Watered down, crisp and clean. There you go. Pilsner. yesyouam (505), Fairport, New York, USA Jun 30, 2009 Tröegs Sunshine Pils is a clear, pale golden beer with a nice, elastic white head that has great retention and lacing. It has a fruity, grassy aroma with perhaps a note of pine. It has a smooth medium body with a gritty, caustic finish. It tastes nice and bitter with fruit and wood flavors. It demands attention. It leaves you thirsty, but it tastes nice. Jsawyer (225), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2009 Bottle. Poured effervescent gold with a light white head. Aroma was slight banana, cereal, light maltose, light phenols, and crisp yet floral noble hops. Flavor was lightly fruity, light caramel malt, cereal, mellifluous, pollen, and floral. Palate was light but carbonation provided some creaminess. Sadly it finished with a lingering celluloid bitterness. bobbypaulson (100), , Minnesota, USA Jun 26, 2009 bottle from zeno’s in state college. Pour a yellow with zero head. The smell is of citrus with some hops. The taste is the same as the smell. This is a very refreshing beer very crisp and nicely balanced.
