Naturally fermented cider made only from local Asturian apples, selected by AACOMASI, the Asturian Association of Cider Apple Growers. The production process is checked and certified by ECA, the Certification and Quality Guarantee Organization, who ensure that the whole process has been followed through and is implemented according to the guidelines leading to the award of the ĎNaturally Fermented Quality Ciderí stamp of approval.

Colour: Lemony-yellow on green. Bubbly on pouring. Pours well. Fruity, unripened apple bouquet. Nuances of dried roses with a hint of freshly churned butter, with a pleasant, tart taste. After tastes of citrus fruit, grapefruit and lemon linger on the palate.

29/11 0.70 l bottle @Sidreria Asturias, Oviedo. It poured hazy yellow body with medium sized head. Quite weak, tart apple aroma. Flavor was sour, but not as usual, somewhat sweet fruity towards the end. Clean, without notes of yeast or cork, medium bodied with long, tart apple finish. Iíd prefer more straightforward sourness, although people who are not used to or donít like very sour things might find this a good gate to Spanish natural cider style. A pleasant example anyhow.

Cobweb, musty basement, apple, and pear aroma. Earthy soil notes as well. Clear yellow, no visible carbonation. Tart, abundant funk and mustiness. Persimmon and apple. Carbonation is soft. Not in the least medicinal, nor does it seem infected. Finishes with a meaty smokiness, reminiscent of bacon. Lovely transitions and wild character. One of the best ciders Iíve had the pleasure of drinking.

Bottle. No head (still, poured as vigorously as I could without getting cider all over the room, so as not to offend Spanish purists). Body is medium yellow. Aroma is notes of cheese, apples, lemon juice, and mold. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, flat carbonation, moderately astringent, lightly alcoholic. Well, itís got nothing on the best Normandy ciders, but at least it doesnít just smell like apple juice. Iím personally not fond of the strong cheesy smell, but I could see some folks enjoying that. Nice balance, itís assertively tart. Overall just ok.

Sampled @ Tinto Fino during NYC Cider Week. Balloon wine glass. Stirred pour. Golden, hazed body. Smells of tangy, over-ripe fruit. Tastes slightly sweet & bittergreen. Itchy tang. Earthy yeast. Oniony? Moderate vinegar. Solid tartness. Tasty. :)

One of the best Asturian ciders that Iíve ever tried. Needs to be poured the right way. Lovely apple aroma and taste. Very refreshing. Personally I rather drink it cool, but some locals prefer it at room temperature. In anyway itís a hell of a cider. Great adquisition (though quite expensive abroad)

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2013 Tasted on bottle and directly from cider vat in Asturias. Fresh apple aromas, along with some citric ones. Pours hazy pale golden. No head. Tastes apple and vinegar acidic. Finish is long and sour, astrigent. One of the best Asturian ciders, no doubt. it has won many awards in this region, the biggest producer of cider in Spain, where cider is almost a religion. Point that you can only trully evaluate and appreciate its qualities when its PROPER POURED, that means you have to "escanciar" it, lift the bottle as much as you can and let the cider drop into the glass you hold with the other hand as low you can. This way you can "break" the cider and get air mixed with the liquid, enhancing it. If poured directly from bottle to glass it has no strenght at all.

Bottle @ home picked at Mile High Wine and Spirits and recommended by Andre. A touch hazy, lemonade yellow appearance with no head and little to no carbonation. White wine, dry, rich apple, somewhat bitter, a touch spicy aroma. Fairly easy drinking, sweet apple, dry, somewhat tangy, a touch tart, lightly vinous flavor with a dry finish. Pretty tasty cider.
