3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle to hefe glass. Best by 11/2014. Tons of banana and bubble gum in the nose and taste. Not much citrus or clove but it is there. This isn't bad but the taste is a bit of a let down after the nose.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Trader Joe’s Bavarian Style Hefeweizen has an extremely thick, off-white head, a cloudy (and, it gets much cloudier when the bottom contents are swished and poured in), fiercely bubbly, golden appearance, and heavy lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma of pungent, sweet, spiced cake, and the flavor is of wheat bread crust, spiced cake, coriander, strong cloves, lemon, sugar, background tap water, and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and soft, and Trader Joe’s Bavarian Style Hefeweizen finishes semi-dry and exceptionally drinkable. RJT

From the bottle. Pour is orange/gold with an medium sized head. The aroma is nicely balance with banana and clove. Creamy palate and flavor with banana, clove, and a bit of spice within the overall sweet taste. Definitely will be my go-to Hefeweizen at this price.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Turbid orange pour - fluffy, fairly lasting head - nose of overripe apple, clove, white pepper, light banana, tangy wheat - nice, full, creamy mouthfeel, but still light and quaffable - flavor is mildly sweet and lightly tangy, but mostly a dry mix of bready wheat and phenols of clove and pepper - finish is dry, with some nutmeg and other spicy notes - lingering peppery flavor - this is a solid Hefe - given the price, I may have just found my go-to Hefe for the summer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the local trader joe's good for a few more months. Pours slight hazy gold amber, size able foam head.
Light clove, sweetness, then bubblegum that lingers. Body is light with power coming from the ample carbonation.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
This was the worst hefeweizen I have had. Maybe the batch was bad- all the people I know who drank it also complained of a nasty metallic taste combined with sickly sweetness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I think this is an astonishingly good Heffe, and impossible to beat for the price. For 5.99 a six pack, you get a canonical examplar: foamy white head, lots of banana and yeast on the nose, pours a hazy orange yellow, medium mouthfeel, with lots of banana, wheat, some citrus, clove, a prominent sweetness, and a mellow bitterness lingering on the back...
Impressive, and underrated for no good reason.
