Has a dark golden color, the head is white but dissipates fast. Great smell! I smelled bananas, cloves, and wheat bread. Taste is banana, cloves, fruit, malt and yeast. Very good beer! Brewed for traders Joes grocery stores. I’m impressed.....

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack purchased at Trader Joes in Davis, CA. The aroma on this has a ton of gumball characteristic. Scant banana and clove, too, but mostly gumball. Mostly hazy golden-brown body, with a medium, fizzy off-white head present. Starts quite carbonated and a bit astringent before some of the bubblegum yeast esters come through in terms of flavor. Finishes with a bit of a mineral and metallic flavor. A little thin-bodied, and lacking something.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from Trader Joes. It pours an effervescent orange color with a large off white head. The aroma is strong with sweet bubble gum and lighter notes of banana and clove. Smells very sweet. The flavor is creamy and nicely balanced between clove/pepper spice and bubble gum sweetness. In fact, it’s more than a bit tilted toward sweet bubble gum than anything else. The finish is crisp and minerally. It remains pretty full bodied throughout considering the gravity. Decent beer if you like the German Hefe’s… not top notch but close.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Milky yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some banana extract notes as well as some wheat. The flavor is more of the same. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle. JosephsBrau label. Honesty overall for a contract brewer this really surprised me, in a good way. Best by 13 Jan 2014 on the back label. Cloudy light golden color (amber type hue) with thick white foamy head that lasted the entire glass. Nice balance of the wheat, banana and clove light traces of caramel malt. Moderately high carbonation, medium bod with a almost sweet syrupy texture. The nose and taste is true to the style and really lives up to an Authentic German wheat beer. Really great brew for the price. If you like the style this should please you, nice drinker.

Cloudy Dark Amber Color, Huge Bubbly Head, Lots of Lacing. Faint Banana, Clove, Bubble Gum Aroma. Sweet, Faint Banana, Clove, Bubble Gum, Wheat. Average for the style.Slightly dull, should be lively bubbly carbonation and a shade lighter orange color. None the less it is pretty good. This is my favorite style, so I did enjoy it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle around my sisters pool out of a big ol’ plastic cup on the fourth of July. Pours a hazed gold with a large white head. Big banana and wheat with a touch of spice. Medium bodied, empties out into a bit of banana soda. Sweet with wheat a touch of tartness. Flavor continues with more wheat and a bit of banana. Decent, not great.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2013 Pours a pale, cloudy yellow with a great big cumulus head on top. The last dregs of the bottle drops a slug of cloudy yeast in. Like their Dunkelweizen there is a lot of banana to the aroma and to the flavor, but maybe a bit less prominent. Some other fruity flavors floating around as well, but none that I can really distinguish. Somewhat of a crisp white wine aroma and flavor. Goes down easy with a pleasant sweet aftertaste. Cheap at the Cambridgeport Trader Joe’s, and you can mix and match with their other store brands. Great for heat wave #3 of the season. Overall this is a really solid hefeweizen, especially at just over a buck per bottle.
