Nice aroma of bubble gum, wheat, spices. Huge tan head..golden orange in color...cloudy. Nice mixture of sweet wheat, bubble gum, some banana mixed with spice and perfect amount of bitterness at the end. Bubble gum is a little over powering...but tolerable. Strong showing.

Poured a cloudy amber orange color with aromas of wheat, light banana, some clove and a touch of pepper. Flavors are the same decent hefe ocerall but better ones on the market that could be found easier.

Pours a medium yellow .. mild head, good lacing .. light bruised banana, vanilla biscuit, and mild yeast .. . light mouth .. . mild finish .. . pretty good for a gordon beer but still quite lacking
.. . . People ask why I don’t like spoons - I tell them that they’re pointless.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ron (1990) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 6, 2013
Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Rochester NY. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a slight off-white head that is foamy, with good retention and not much lace. Banana bread nose with notes of cloves. Mildly creamy mouthfeel with a little crisp to it. The citrus taste seems a bit fake. It’s just ok for the price.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 womencantsail (6902) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Pale golden color with a nice haze and white head. Intense banana, clove, yeast, and bread aroma. Good sweetness, subtle citrus, floral hops, and a touch of bubblegum. Tastes mostly of banana, clove, and bread. Great yeasty quality, sweet malt, and hints of citrus and bubblegum. Very nice hefeweizen, sort of caught me by surprise.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle.
Cloudy, amber orange with 2-finger off-white head and good lacing.
Aroma of banana, wheat, caramel, very light yeast and a touch of cloves.
Taste of wheat, grain, yeast, banana, spice and cloves.
Medium/light body and high carbonation.
Pleasant enough, but mild it the point of being wimpy in most aspects.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Scrapersnbeer (980) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Gordon Biersch hangs their hat on brewing a good hefeweizen, and this is likely why Trader Joe’s chose them for a contract. Aroma of banana, lemon, and Blow Pops ( yeah those things) Hazy dark orange color. Delicious sweet citrus wheat flavor. Not bitter, but how zesty it is. Packs a fizzy zinger of a punch. Typifies Trader Joe’s philosophy: better than average product at a sub-premium price, and no stink attitude either. Some of the JosephsBrau stuff is just passable, but this is the best store-brand beer I’ve ever had.
