mikeben (335), Naperville, Illinois, USA Mar 29, 2005 This ranked as the worst Trader Joe beer and I have to agree. not that it is bad mind you but it is not as clean as the others I have had and also has a mediocre aftertaste. Now the color is a nice gold and it smells really nice. It has a decent flavor but the Vienna is along the same lines and the flavor on that is so much more crisp and refreshing. Again not bad but nothing to seek out when you get so much more out of TJ’s other selections. jpm30 (1584), East Central, Georgia, USA Jan 27, 2006 From a 12 long neck brown bottle with a blurb about the lager on the back label and a batch number and date. Made a decent appearance, a clear pilsener golden with a nice white head that reduced to a thin lacing and a minimal amount of sticking. Had a big bready malt aroma with whiffs of spicy herbal hops. Moderate carbonation and a crisp light bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Had a pale bready malty taste with a mellow herbal hop bite in the middle and a semi-dry malty finish.
Aggie80 (685), Michigan, USA Apr 6, 2005 I was surprised by the nice flavors and clean finish. I was expecting something closer to a megabrew. Nice malts with a good flow of bubbles, I will certainly buy this again. gws57 (988), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA May 1, 2005 Had this one bottled. Clean finish, slightly malty taste. Certainly not the worst lager out there. stoutchap (293), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 21, 2006 Pale gold purs, some head. Yeat nose, some mild hops and nutty finish. Surprisingly I liked this - am I turning into a pilsner pansy?
