Trader Joes Bohemian Lager

12oz Bottle - Trader Joes - Tacoma, WA
Aroma – Nice malt aroma with a good amount of spice and hops.
Appearance – Deep Golden in color, Nice head and clear.
Flavor – This had a good malt and hops balance with the malts being very pilsner style.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, Decent texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A very average beer this was a nice lager for the night. Liked the easy finish.

From a 12oz Bottle. Crystal clear, golden hay colored pour with a thick head of fluffy white foam. Straight forward pilsner malt aroma with a touch of hops. Mostly clean, but I seem to be getting the faintest whiff of pear esters. More hops would be nice. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel with a soft, malty texture. Flavors of light bready malt and a hint of cereal grain. A fleeting touch of herbal hops comes through on the back end. A pretty nice pilsner overall, especially in terms of mouthfeel, but it could really use a bigger saaz hop punch.

Bottle. Grassy, citric, thin nose with a bit of cereal grain. Pours a clear yellow-golden with a good deal of carbonation and a dancing bit of frothy whitish head. Crisp, dryish malt taste, honey with just a touch of corniness, though I’m not implying anything. Lemonade and grass with an outside chance at caramel, but it’s the citrus doing the (relatively!) heavy lifting here. Light body. Nothing particularly Bohemian about it.

Not a bad pilsner, with a bit of crisp hop but not a whole lot going on. This might be decent fresh.

Nice lightly flavored beer. I’m not typically a fan of this type of beer but this one has a nice hoppy kick to it that is very fun and fast to drink. At 5% alcohol it is a good summer/hot in the sun beer.
