COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Hofbrau" in German means "the brew of royalty." Trader Joe's Hof Brau Bock is a fine example of the regal brewing traditions still found in Germany today. This outstanding bock is golden in coclor, very rich and moderately hopped. 22 IBUS. Brewed with three types of imported malts, Hallertau aroma hops and lager yeasts.

12 ounce bottle poured a golden color with aromas of grain, husk, light earth and some floral notes. Flavors are the same, nothing special, decent overall.

Clear gold with thin white head. Not much aroma, and taste isn’t very distinctive either. Toasty malty sweet and that’s about it. Light alcohol flavors. $2/12oz

Bottle (as "JosephsBrau Hofbrau Bock") from Trader Joe’s in Athens. Big crude malty aroma, some alc. Clean medium straw color, with a slightly rocky head. Hard sugary intial, with a tinge of hops / gets roasty in mid, with caramel / sweet, near cloying, at final. Medium body. Not so good. A cheap-tasting brew.

Went to a friend’s for a bonfire the other night and saw this new-to-me brew in the cooler. My first of the TJ’s brews. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy honey-gold with a thick white frothy cap on top. The nose carries some sweet floral tones, fruity sweetness, and a slight dry huskiness on the closeout. Smooth carbonation. Subtle bite, with a slightly oily feel. Mild fruit-like flavor, apples, honey, crackers. Pretty mild unoffensive beer. Nothing that exciting, but I wouldn’t turn one down. A refreshing easy-drinking beer.

Golden clear, looks like a standard light lager. Grassy hop smell, overall sweet not balanced enough, Not very bock like.

(12oz bottle) clear light gold, ring of white bubbles. Nose of saccharin, yeasty unleavened bread, unnatural, light caramel. Taste of saccharin, pretty sweet, light caramel, light body, way too unnaturally sweet.
