Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty blonde color ale with a huge foamy head with great retention with some great lacing. Aroma consists of Unibroue yeast ester with some rustic malt notes and some peppery notes. Taste is also dominated by some Unibroue yeast ester with some rustic malt notes and a spicy peppery finish. Body is full with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Great mix of drinkability and complexity. Another winner from Unibroue.

Corked and caged bottle. Two-toned golden poppy & moon yellow with a large, fizzy white head that is mostly and quickly diminishing. Very effervescent. Belgian yeast nose - banana, cloves, coriander and candied ginger. Passion fruit, ripe banana, white pepper, cloves and light stone-ground wheat bread flavors. Finish is very faintly sour with more notes of husky wheat and dried straw atop sweet light-vanilla malts. Refreshingly clean with a pillowy mouthfeel.

Cloudy blond, assertive spice - gotta be coriander all over this, big Unibroue yeast, some sugary pale malt sweetness and a little bit of citrus late.

Light and drinkable for an 8.5 abv beer. Big head with light Apple pear aroma. Flavor gets better as warms but also gets more phenolic. Nice bargain from Trader Joe’s.

Slightly citrusy-clove nose, pours a golden amber. Medium sweet with a delicate bitterness. Spritzy, with a pleasant bitter finish. Well-made and a very pleasant drink.

pours gold, slight hazy, white head about 1/2 inch high. lots of crackers, grass, hay, bubblegum, slight clove on finish. lots of carbonation keeps it light and bubbling in the mouth but me thinks its over carbonated.

Man, this is about a Belgian as a French Canadian beer can be. Brewed by Unibroue, this slightly cloudy golden ale underneath a fluffy white head. Distinct sweet yeast aroma permeates this deliciously herbal traditional Belgian golden. This is the real deal and only $6.99 at Trader Joes.

Bottle from tj’s. A well done belgian ale. Quality malt presence with a slight hop bit finished with a crisp dry finish carried by typical belgian carbonation. Belgian done well; Unibroue.

750 ml bottle purchased at Trader Joe’s in Escondido a little over a year ago ($5.99). Pours into my Unibroue tulip glass a slightly hazy straw-amber hue with a big three fingers of pillow-y white head. AROMA of Belgian yeast, bready malts, honey, basement, pear, and a little bit of spice. FLAVOR of honey malts, sweet bready malts, sweetish Granny Smith apple, poached pear, Unibroue yeast, banana, with a bit of ginger and other spice. Nice spritzy carbonation. Some echoes of La Fin du Monde, but this is still a good effort and at a great price. (135, 839)
