Crafted exclusively for Trader Joe’s this delicious beer is made in Quebec, Canada, and brewed according to the time honored traditions of classic Belgian Ales. It strikes the perfect balance between spices, hop, and malt profiles. With champagne-like effervescence and aromatic notes of citrus peel and ginger, this beer is malty, mildly sweet and hoppy with a subtle, spicy finish. It is sure to please the most finicky beer drinkers.

Thanks, Mike and Abb! Well, Trader Joe’s "tier 2" Unibroue beers have done the job in the past. But I have to say that this one fell flat in a depressing kind of way. Cloudy gold pour, well carbonated and vigorous looking. But things were worrisome with the first deep snort, as there was a weirdly diacetyl quality in there along with a too-sweet and generically "Belgian" impression. Both too sharp and too sweet depending on the moment, it seems like an impressionistic hodgepodge more than anything else. Inoffensive, I guess, but I wish I liked it better given how sweet the price point is.

750 ml bottle from Trader Joe’s Bakersfield. Nose is yeast, coriander, ginger, sweet candi sugar and a flowery note. Lightly hazy yellow with a big, long lasting, heavy lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor is lightly sweet, yeasty, spicy, and a hint of bitter

Pours golden yellow with a slight haze, two finger head that dissipated to a strong but thin film and left ok lace. Lots of effervesence in my goblet. Rich ripe banana aromas accompanied by clove and other spices, wheat and flowers. Flavors are similar, featuring the rich sweetness of the bananas, Belgian yeasts and spicy accents. Light body, smooth and unusually (in a good way) creamy texture, lively carbonation and a clean crisp finish. Extra points for the value.

Bottle. Clear dark yellow pour, small ring of carbonation and an aroma of spice and a little lemon zest. Flavor has just enough malt to balance out some nice hints of hops, lemon juice a little banana. A steal @ $6 for a 750.

Bottle. Bright yellow pour with some haze and a slick of white foam. Aroma is belgian yeast with subdued clove, pepper, a bit of citrus, and light candied sugar. Taste is heavy on the clove with pepper, complimentary bitterness, a touch of sweet malt, and some spices. Clean, dry, and crisp mouthfeel. Very well made.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with medium white head. Aroma of light fruity notes, dough, signature Unibroue yeast and a hint of ginger. Flavour is quite light and spicy, but not any of the ginger is detectable, champagne-style yeast, and some mild fruitiness. Lively carbonation, with a nicely spicy body. Solid, but unobtrusive one here, just perhaps not up to Unibroue standard.

Very good example of a Belgian Golden ale. Initially pours with a large head, but then settles down. Easy drinking with a lot of orange and spice nose.

Bottle. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate balanced, yeast and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.
