Cloudy lemon color, very nice. Faint, light scent of lemon, yeast, banana. Overly fizzy if too cold, but when allowed to warm a bit it drinks smoothly and pleasantly tart. Still a bit gassy, though. Mild aftertaste with a nice sweetness.

Happy to see a new TJs bomber by Unibrue....Pours a hazy medium yellow. Foamy white head. Aroma is definitely Belgian spicy yeast, along with lemon rind contrasting with musty banana. Very smooth first sip, with an unexpected malty richness. The banana notes come first, followed by the tart lemon, and a slightly thin finish. Some winey notes at the end as well. A little more flavor hops at the end would finish this better, it’s a touch too thin at the end. Not too complex, but good overall.

Pours a hazy yellow with a good, lasting head. Aroma of orange, lychee, yeast, and coriander. Tastes like a good bready Belgian with orange and spice.

Really great beer! Both Trader Joes big bottles by Unibrue(sp?) are great. This is one of the best golden ales I've had; and it's a steal for the price.

Hazy golden brew with cascades of fine lacing. Aroma is cooly clovey and musky, crisp and with a hint of wheat. Moderately lively body and warming on the palate and gullet. Well melded clovyness does not dominate. If there is any real detracting factors, it’s that this one lacks complexity, but it redeems itself with crispness, balance, and overall execution. Excellent golden style Belgian ale.

Pours to a clean golden body with a crisp white head. Aroma is hoppy pineapple with lots of clean yeasts. The flavor is clean and yeasty with some pineapple and apricot. Crisp clean medium light body.

Thanks, Mike and Abb! Well, Trader Joe’s "tier 2" Unibroue beers have done the job in the past. But I have to say that this one fell flat in a depressing kind of way. Cloudy gold pour, well carbonated and vigorous looking. But things were worrisome with the first deep snort, as there was a weirdly diacetyl quality in there along with a too-sweet and generically "Belgian" impression. Both too sharp and too sweet depending on the moment, it seems like an impressionistic hodgepodge more than anything else. Inoffensive, I guess, but I wish I liked it better given how sweet the price point is.

750 ml bottle from Trader Joe’s Bakersfield. Nose is yeast, coriander, ginger, sweet candi sugar and a flowery note. Lightly hazy yellow with a big, long lasting, heavy lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor is lightly sweet, yeasty, spicy, and a hint of bitter

Pours golden yellow with a slight haze, two finger head that dissipated to a strong but thin film and left ok lace. Lots of effervesence in my goblet. Rich ripe banana aromas accompanied by clove and other spices, wheat and flowers. Flavors are similar, featuring the rich sweetness of the bananas, Belgian yeasts and spicy accents. Light body, smooth and unusually (in a good way) creamy texture, lively carbonation and a clean crisp finish. Extra points for the value.
