3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy yellow color with a foamy white head. Aroma of apples, sweet candy sugar, and that classic Unibroue house character. Flavors were similar. Nicely balanced with a fair amount of bitterness present. Nicely carbonated and easy to drink, but perhaps a bit on the light side for me. Worth trying!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared thanks to matt! Pours a cloudy yellow with thin white head that leaves light lace. Aroma is lemon, spicy Belgian esters, and slight bread. Taste follows, clean and crisp, easy to drink. It seems that it may be a watered down La Fin du Monde.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rich, hazy blonde and golden coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall light tan head. Aroma of yeast, bread, wheat, coriander seed, corn and a bit of curaco. Medium-bodied; Very yeastie and bready flavours with a good light spiciness, some herbal flavours and a subdued sweetness throughout. Aftertaste shows some light sweetness, some herbs and a good sweetness from honey and curacao and a good complex flavour that lasts. Overall, a nice robust yeastie flavour with some good dry flavours and a nice complexity with a few herbal and peppery notes. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s in Bailey’s Crossroads (Falls Church), Virginia on 21-November-2013 for US$5.99 sampled at my brother-in-laws house in Milton, Connecticut on 27-November-2013.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The aroma is Belgian yeast, bread and hay. Pours a cloudy golden yellow, white frothy head, mostly diminishing with no lacing. The taste is sweet, bitter then a touch sour. The body is light to medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation fizzy and lively, the finish long sweet and sour.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Yes, a spicy nose over some light Belgian malts, with a hint of orange. Hazy yellow body, tiny floaties can be seen. Taste is the usual Belgian pale lager, quite tasty. A bit of tang although there’s no mention of wild yeast. Mild ginger notes and a hint of banana ester. For a $6 corked bottle, it’s a pretty good TJ’s beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A steady pour into my teku glass produces a three finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a bright, clear, golden color. The aroma has a nice mix of dried hay, pale grain, light fruit notes and earthy spiciness. Lots of clove, some peppery notes, touches of young ginger, as well as a slightly musty yeast character, and earthy spice notes play a role here. Soft lemon like notes, and backing fruit notes that suggest of pears, and perhaps floral apple meld well with the grassy grain character that leans towards pale crackers at times.
Light bodied and lightly effervescent the beer strikes a nice balance of being quite quaffable yet has a soft chewiness to the body. The finish has a fair amount of clove to it without being overly much, as well as some soft ginger like notes and a touch of lemon-zest like citrus character. Soft cracker like malt notes with a pale grain sweetness, some dried hay like notes in the finish, and in combination with the fruit esters a soft apple like note to the finish. There seems to be a touch of herbal hop character to this beer and a soft bitterness that helps to balance the fruit character.
A nice Golden Ale, it has a good balance between fruit, spice, pale grain, and soft hop character.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This pours golden into the glass, with a light white head that diminishes, leaving trace lacing. The nose is strong with grapes and pear accents, of a dessert wine. The flavors follow suit, yeasty, with grape skins and rind/peel to finish, alongside light diacetyl notes and coriander spiciness. The mouthfeel is lively and juicy on the palate. This one also looks to age well. Nice offering from the Trader.
