Crafted exclusively for Trader Joe’s this delicious beer is made in Quebec, Canada, and brewed according to the time honored traditions of classic Belgian Ales. It strikes the perfect balance between spices, hop, and malt profiles. With champagne-like effervescence and aromatic notes of citrus peel and ginger, this beer is malty, mildly sweet and hoppy with a subtle, spicy finish. It is sure to please the most finicky beer drinkers.

Paid $5.99 for a 750 ml bottle with the best before 11-08-2017. Plenty of carbonation on a hazy golden straw colored ale. Aroma is orange zest, bananas hints, steady Belgian yeast.

The flavor reminds me of La Fin du Monde. Very, very similar to La Fin du Monde. The Brewers house yeast is obvious. Tons of fruit, candied fruit with a mild spice in the finish. Body is medium (perhaps leans on lighter). Nice effervescent mouth feel and dry texture. very nicely surprised by this.

2015 BJCP Category: 25C Belgian Golden Strong Ale

AROMA: Classic Belgian yeast esters dominate. Strong green pear and peppercorn scents with some orangepeel. 10/12

APPEARANCE: Rusty orange/light brown hue. Very hazy. Large white foam dissipates quickly, no lacing. 1/3

FLAVOR: Some banana up front with peppercorn throughout. Lemony flavor on the finish akin to Sprite/7Up. Fairly dry bitterness. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Spastic carbonation never settles down. Medium/full body; consistently crisp but not smooth. Alcohol warmth is noticeable but gentle. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Not as good as La Fin Du Monde, but better than Duvel as it’s fruitier and less arid. 8/10

Hazy yellow liquid with a large, frothy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Scents of cookies and biscuit malt, Belgian yeast spices, and mild light fruit. Flavor is malt forward with light Belgian candi , pear, light hops bitterness and a dry finish.

Big bottle, Ann Arbor, MI via Trader Joes. Hazy pale gold, yeast and citrus aroma with spice. More mellow flavour. Semi sweet with a sharp spice citrus. Long citrus finish. A great step up from blue moon but not very complex compared to other Quebec ales.

Trader Joe’s is famous for it’s 2 buck chuck wine which is arguably over-priced even for those on welfare. So I was skeptical to try one of their brews. This Belgian style golden ale pours like a slightly darker lager with soft off whet foam. The aroma is spice filled with cardamom and ginger and just a tinge of hops. The initial taste is also spice and citrus and slight sting of alcohol amidst mild hops. The full taste remains spice and citrus but the ale flavor comes out, but somewhat mellowed. The aftertaste remains spicy, but with a strong and bitter taste of hops. Overall, this was pretty good, but not likely to jump in my cart again.

Served in a tulip. Hazy golden with a medium white head and decent lacing. Aroma is coriander, banana,Belgian yeast, and spices. Flavor is more banana, lemon, spices, and orange peel. Thin to medium and easy to drink. Nice beer.

From a bomber purchased at (guess where) Trader Joe’s. Rich well developed yeasty and spicy aroma. Full bodied sweet malty flavor with great balance and a buttery grain mouthfeel with only a slight alcohol burn. Outstanding Belgian style ale. Will stock up on more of these.

Purchased at Trader Joe’s in Vegas. Pours a hazy light golden-amber with an off-white head that disappears rather quickly, leaving not much lacing but a thin white cap above the brew. Aromas of Belgian Ale yeast with some nice spices, in the nose and taste. In the flavours, some orange notes which balances some sweetness with the spiciness. A very easy-drinking strong Belgian Ale, even easier than other Unibroue. Glad I could try this, but had to go to Vegas to do this.

an as expected dry yeasty Belgian golden. Pretty decent bang for the buck, though not a favorite style. Lightly fruity with a fizzy body that covers the abv well.
