dkachur (881), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 7, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s in Richmond, VA. Pours brownish orange with a quickly dissipating one-finger head. Pretty straightforward toasted malt aroma with a hint of caramel. Taste is very similar with a tad bit of raisin. Medium body. Aroma - Predominantly caramel and toffee, suggestions of spice.
Appearance - Clear amber, medium off white head that lasts pretty well.
Flavor - Lots of malty sweetness dominates, soft bitterness slowly emerges in the finish.
Palate - Barely medium body and medium carbonation, smooth and fairly clean considering all the maltiness.
Overall - Drinkable, if uninspired, Vienna mbgrayson (52), Anaconda, Montana, USA Aug 30, 2008 A nice basic amber. Nothing really complex, but smooth and drinkable. Fairly well balanced...nice. ucusty (1210), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 27, 2008 Transparent amber pour with a fluffy head. Big sweet malty nose. Thin bodied mostly watered down flavor. It is, however quite refreshing in the NC humidity phishpond417 (1456), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 21, 2008 This one pours a clear bright amber colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma is very malty accented by strong hop aromas. Plenty of carbonation in this one, but taste is unfortnately dissapointing. Flavor is a little stale with hops initially, but finish is watery.
