12oz bottle pours copper with a tall creamy offwhite head that stayed pretty well and laced the sides of the glass well. Aromas of sweet caramel malts, a touch of brown sugar, and a touch of roasted malts. Flavor is mostly sweet caramel malts, but there is also a touch of brown sugar there as well. Palate is smooth creamy and quite drinkable. This was the best of the 4 TJ beers I tried yesterday. Reminded me a lot of Elliot Ness from Great Lakes..

Well, I don’t know what a Vienna lager is supposed to taste like but bought it based on its statement of having a "smooth malty flavor", which is a type of flavor I like in beer. I found it very enjoyable, and feel that it does have a smooth malty flavor with just a little hops in there for some zing. It seems rich, and it seems to have some character to it, but it is not at all expensive. It does remind me somewhat of the european Marzen style which I’ve enjoyed before, but found to be a little overbearing. This trader joe’s vienna lager works fine for me for sure.

I think this was a very good vienna lager. Has a decent balance with some subtle malty sweetness.

Pour clear copper. Aroma is roasted grainly malt. Medium / light body with medium carbonation which is quite sharp. Taste is smooth roasted malt - not much here. Finish is somewhat sour and a bit creamy with a metallic astringent flavor. The astringency mellows towards the end of the glass. Fair at best.

Pretty much a disapointment as far as vienna lager’s go, which is a shame because Gordon Biersch actually makes my favorite vienna. This ain’t it. Medium body lager with a weak taste.

Orange-brown body with little head and no lace. Honey aroma. Malty hop flavor which is nicely balanced. Flavor also has other hints of orange.
