3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. U.S. Beer 28 of 31 for <a href=http://www.americanbeermonth.com> American Beer Month! Nice beery malt ’n’ hops smell when opened. Pours a civilized Vienna amber with a bubbly head. Taste is pretty clean, but perhaps a bit of phenol. Wish I knew whether Gordon Biersch used its own recipe, or did TJ’s ask for a few economy moves, like lighter malts or a quicker ferment. Make no mistake, it’s all right for a store brand beer; nice touch o’ caramel ond other toasty malts. Hop taste is pretty standard, but at least it’s there. And who knows, if one store chain tries to improve its private label drinkage, maybe others will, too.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer pours a clear amber color with a thin white head which dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is grains, slight malts and a hint of cherry with a subtle hint of bread. The flavor is light and fruit filled. Bready grainyness and ever so slight cherry/citrusy flavor, but overall weak palate. Even the carbonation was held in check. Smooth drinking beer, but nothing to really write home about. Pretty wet finish in most regards.. very standard!

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ckear amber with a small but lasting off-white head. Lace is rally nice. The aroma is malty, bread, caramel, and some biscuit. The flavor is bready up front then an earthiness kicks in finally followed by some hops. Medium-light body lively mouthfeel, a bit slimy. Ok and a lot better than the sorry pilsener packaged under the same name.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
My last of 4 Trader Joe brews. WHile I enjoyed the caramel malty sweetness of this one, the beer was just too fizzy for me. The prickly little bubbles seemed to scour away most of the flavor. Similar to Sam Adams, not a good choice in Cleveland, the home of Great Lakes Elliiot Ness.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Golden color with a little white head. Aroma was a bit strange ranging from wet grass/straw to some hints of something sweet. Good taste but, nothing real special.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a light auburn amber color. Small white head dissapates to a film. Very grainy aromatics, with perhaps a whisper of malt. Very grainy flavor, interjected with a subdued toastiness. Any hops I couldn’t detect through the haze of skunkiness. Mouthfeel would be rather smooth if not for the skunk.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours golden with a thin quickly diminishing head with little lacing to speak of. Aromas of bread and malt. Flavor was only slightly hoppy. Mostly malt some roastiness. Finish was pretty smooth.
