Pours deep amber into a Sam glass. Tan head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Sour caramel aromas. Soft with Sourdough and nuts front to back. Lasting stale caramel finish.

the price was great and appearance is pretty good. Flavor is seriously flawed. Palate is solid. Def. flaws here, but may be true to style, and far from a drain pour.

12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s, Portsmouth, NH for a price of $1.17. Labeled as Josephs Brau. Clear light-amber color with huge white head. Toasted grainy flavor, real similar to an authentic Vienna lager. Very subtle hops and traces of caramel. Bread notes. Better than most of the other mass-produced amber lagers for sale. This makes for a very nice lawn mower brew. In fact I cracked this open after I was finish with my yard work. It’s decent.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked 09/23/13-12:11. It is a pretty nice looking beer with a copper-amber, golden color and a thin short-lived head, The aroma reminds me of a German Purity brewed ale with its caramel malty and sweet character. The body is medium. The taste is rather sweet with a low bitterness at the ending.

Bottle. Light amber in color. Flavor is toast, slight caramel, I detect some hop in there. Aroma is light, watery.

355mL at a cookout. Brilliant clear amber, sparkling higher carbonation. Medium, barely rocky off white head. Good retention and moderate to low lacing. Nose is sticky stale candy corn, rotting banana . Taste is stale candy corn, quite soapy, hydrogen peroxide palate . Mild state grain and hefty lemon soap make this one quite bad.

Amber pour with a dense white head. Bread and toasted malt nose with some biscuit notes. Floral hops, yeast, and a light fruit character. Toasted malt, bread, and biscuit malt flavors. Some spicy and floral hops, yeast, and lightly fruity. A touch bitter and metallic on the finish.

12 ounce bottle, orangish color with aromas of husk, light sugar, some light toast, and crackers. Flavors are the same, decent beer overall.

12 oz. bottle. JosephsBrau label. Gift from a neighbor. Thanks, Sid! Pours a clear tea-orange with a finger of off-white head that settles unevenly. Aroma of sweet and toasted malts, crackers, husky grains, and brown sugar. Flavor is pretty much the same. Some bitterness. Light-bodied, with crisp carbonation and a toasty, crisp mouthfeel. Not bad.
