MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 28, 2006 Tasting at goldtwins 9/20/06 - Aroma is sweet chocolate malt, dark fruit, and Unibroue yeast. Pours dark brown with nice medium head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with the alcohol showing up. Palate is sticky sweet. A tasty brew. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Sep 25, 2006 Poured a clear dark brown color with a small beige head. Sweet fruity aroma with notes of raisins and plums. Fruity flavor of plums and chocolate notes. Nice warmth from the alcohol. Medium bodied. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 11, 2006 Deep reddish, brown colour with a small tan head. Malty, vague roasted aroma with some dark fruit sweetness and a light yeasty note. Malty, dried dark fruit sweet flavor with a yeasty and dry finish. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Sep 1, 2006 Pours dark brown with a good sized fizzy brown head that goes away quickly. The aroma has dark fruits especially dark cherries, bits of sourness and earthy yeast - fairly complex. Medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Starts off with dark cherries, vinegar like sourness and rich earthiness. The carbonation then comes in and brings more earthiness, lots of spiciness. The cherries and sourness remain giving hints of a Flemish Sour. Wonderfully enjoyable beer. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 7, 2006 The pour reveals a cloudy dark brown color with a thin light brown head. Good aroma and flavor of nuts, fruits, molasses, chocolate. The body has a light to medium thickness with a dry mouthfeel and lively carbonation. This reminds me of Trois Pistole but without the rich and round malt. marvinpontiac (117), Huntington Beach, California, USA Aug 1, 2006 Pours a deep brown with a tinge of scarlet. Quickly dissipating head and not a lot of aroma. Slightly sweet - maybe cherries, chocolate, molasses on the tongue. Carbonation is a little fizzy Ungstrup (14762), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 28, 2006 A hazy brown beer with a red shine underneath a very fast disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet with powerful notes of berries, as well as lighter notes of wood and herbs. The flavor is sweet again with strong notes of berries, which gives it a slight acidity that bites lightly in the throat, combined with lighter notes of wood and herbs. It reminds me somewhat of a Flemmish Sour. I find the body thin inspite of the 9% ABV. I find it solid, but I’m not blown away by it. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 25, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Pours slightly hazy reddish brown with a rather rough, off-white head. Extremely fruity nose. Full, sweet body with tons of fruit and dried fruits and some very sweet accents of brown sugar. Rather lovely - but over-carbonated as always from Unibroue. 240706
