Hazy dark amber with a med ium off white head. Arom was sweet with spicy and overripe frruits. Flavour had overripe fruits along with roasted malt, caramel and alcohol notes. Finished sweet.

Bottle at Madsberg 2008 Tasting. Pours orange-red with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, light berries, yeast and some sweet caramel. High carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly sweet, light raisins and plums. Some notes of tartish red currants and a fine, subdued spiciness. Fine beer, though not as good as the 2006.

Aromas of yeast, mild dark fruits, vanillan, and a hint of funky earth. Dark brown in color with a tan head that was respectable, hung around and laced a little. Medium to full bodied with creamy, almost chewy, carbonation. The flavor starts with spice, floral notes, and moves on to chocolate and lightly roasted malts. Also some treacle. The finish is balanced with sweet malt and bitter. It is not so smooth as the 2005, but give it a couple of years. Really good value. Excellent ale.
